I second that. I use iPeng as external interface. I don't need the screen at all. Just a screensaver wouldn't be OK from my perspective either. There should be an option to turn the screen off completely ( under linux it is "vbetool dpms off"). A function like "Screen off" or "Screen Off after XX minutes" would be nice. That should be pretty easy to accomplish. Beside that it'll bring power consumption heavily down I guess. [SlimDevices: Touch] How to lock audio output at 100% (I think)
I've only verified this with analog outs (actually, just the headphone jack), but for those of you who want your Touch to always play at 100%, try this: - In Home > Settings > Advanced > Remote login, enable SSH - SSH in as root, password 1234 - Back up the file you're about to edit: Code: cp -p /usr/share/jive/jive/audio/Playback.lua /usr/share/jive/jive/audio/Playback.lua.bak - Edit /usr/share/jive/jive/audio/Playback.lua with 'vi', replacing the line Code: decode:audioGain(data.gainL, data.gainR) which you should find around line #819 with Code: decode:audioGain(65536, 65536) - Reboot your Touch (use the 'reboot' command) - For good measure, use Home > Settings > Advanced > Remote login and disable SSH After you've done this, Touch will behave like a Squeezebox Classic with its volume control disabled -- you'll see onscreen volume indication, the IR remote will make that volume indication change, as will other mechanisms like the touchscreen and web UI. But the audio output will be locked at full volume. Please let me know if this really does seem to work for those of you using your Touch regular analog outs and digital outputs. If so, I'll make a nice patch for Erland's Patch Installer applet so this is easier to apply. -- peterw http://www.tux.org/~peterw/ Free plugins: 'AllQuiet' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/AllQuiet.html) 'Auto Dim/AutoDisplay' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/AutoDisplay.html) 'BlankSaver' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/BlankSaver.html) 'ContextMenu' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/ContextMenu.html) 'DenonSerial' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/DenonSerial.html) 'FuzzyTime' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/FuzzyTime.html) 'KidsPlay' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/KidsPlay.html) 'KitchenTimer' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/KitchenTimer.html) 'PlayLog' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/PlayLog.html) 'PowerCenter/BottleRocket' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/PowerCenter.html) 'SaverSwitcher' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/SaverSwitcher.html) 'SettingsManager' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/SettingsManager.html) 'SleepFade' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/SleepFade.html) 'StatusFirst' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/StatusFirst.html) 'SyncOptions' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/SyncOptions.html) 'VolumeLock' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/VolumeLock.html) peterw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2107 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=77837 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

[SlimDevices: Touch] Connection to mysqueezebox.com not happening
Hello World! This week, I purchased the new Logitech Touch here in Switzerland. 6 hours before, I started to install the device, as of now, I am still stuck at the screen where it says that it is trying to connect to mysqueezebox.com. Basically the behaviour of the machine is always the same. I enter all necessary information to make it part of my network (Wireless or Ethernet, American Region, Other Region, German language, English language, doesn't matter what I try) it will successfully connect to the network and immediatly afterwards, I am stuck. Reset will just take me to the same screen, a factory reset will result in all information to be reentered and then be stuck at this screen. I already opened ports 3483 (TCP/UDP) and 9000 (TCP) on the firewall in my Netgear router and defined a rule, that all incoming traffic will be send to the Squeezebox Touch (I also tried my NAS running the Squeezebox Server 7.5 as a target for the rules - no difference again). I even tried the wireless access of a neighbour, that made no difference. Right now I have been able to give the Touch a fixed IP (not that it makes any difference). I am still stuck at the connection screen and I do not have any option to prevent that or leave that screen. I can monitor the incoming traffic on the ports with the protocol of the firewall. Using a portscanner, I can see incoming packages and what rules are applied. On 3483, the protocol tells me it correctly applies the rule I defined. The portscanner then gives me a "connection refused" message, but not a timeout, which I would expect if there is nothing at this port. Apart from the package from the portscan, there is no incoming traffic at all, certainly not from mysqueezebox.com. I also defined a rule to protocol on outgoing traffic on port 3483 - no traffic at this port outbound from the Touch. On what port does that device try to communicate (although I could not find a way to monitor on port 80 or 8080)? I already own a Duet for quite some time and was rather happy with my setup. But this is totally insane, the decision to make the Touch rely on a working connection to a Server in the Internet is crazy, especially without any timeout or an option to circumvent that. If Logitech decides to shut down the servers for any given reason, I can throw away my devices? Even if everything should be self sufficient: I am running my own Squeezebox Server, I do not listen to Internet Radio. And when the servers are down I cannot use the device to listen to music I store on my own network? I know that Logitech is good on remote controls, but I did not intend to give them the ability to remotely control wether I can listen to music or not. I cannot find any more information on this issue, the manual is a joke and does not offer any help at all. I intended to buy an additional Touch for my girlfriend, to set it up with an attached USB drive - she has no Internet at home. I expected that to be sufficient, seems like the Internet connection is a must have and actually there is no way of really testing connections. I found some screenshots of a diagnostics tab for the Windows installation of Squeezebox Server, but was unable to find anything similar in the ReadyNAS Duo installation I use. And although both devices of my Duet have appeared on the account I created on mysqueezebox.com, they are always displayed with a status of 'Not connected'. Are there any further options to debug or analyse the situation? Although I can connect to the web frontend of mysqueezeserver.com, does this guarantee that the servers are really up and running for the connection of the various Squeezeboxes (as there is no incoming traffic)? Where can I find a real status page on the mysqueezebox.com servers? Is there any other possibility to run some diagnostics? Writing this message took me roundabout half an hour, the Touch was still doing its running circle without any change at all - I hoped that at 3 o'clock in the morning, server traffic would be low on mysqueezebox.com, as I also read about previous connection problems due to the servers not up and running. No luck so far, I really do hope for some hints from this forum. Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] basic settings not showing?
There are two "skins" for the Touch, one which shows when you use the IR remote, and one in use when you touch the screen. The "remote" skin has larger fonts and no buttons. The "touch" skin has smaller fonts and buttons you can touch. Pushing any key on the remote goes into the remote skin and touching the screen goes into touch skin. The VU meters are one of the Now Playing Screens. When you are at the now playing screen you can touch the screen anywhere in the middle and it will cycle between 5 different screens: normal, artwork only (no text at all), no artwork, just text, spectrum analyzer and VU meters. Many screens will have a shortcut to the now playing screen, its the music note button in the upper right. Many other screen can be found as "screensavers". You can setup screensavers for now playing, stopped, and off. You choose the screensavers by going to the home menu (touch and hold the upper left button gets you to the Home menu) and selecting: settings>screen>screensavers You can select from a list of screensavers for any of the above mentioned "states" of the player. While you are in the settings menu you might want to try going to the other menus, there quite a few things you can setup. There is also the Advanced menu which has a much larger set of things you can setup. Nothing. The Touch has has it own set of preferences available from the settings in it's own menu. The devs have opted for not duplicating this in the web-UI. An old SB3 has much more server options. Personally I would prefere that too. The SB3 actually has more user options to rearrange the UI for example. The Touch should have a similar set of option imho font sizes menu order etc. There is an enhancement request in bugzilla for a more customizable UI -- Mnyb Main hifi: Touch + CIA PS +MeridianG68J and assorted amps SiriuS, Classe'Primare and Dynadio speakers (including a pair of Contour 4 ) Bedroom/Office: Boom Kitchen: SB3 + powered Fostex PM0.4 Miscellaneous use: Radio (with battery) I use a Controller various ir-remotes and a Eee-PC with squeezeplay to control this Mnyb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4143 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=77830 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

[SlimDevices: Touch] basic settings not showing?
i am having a bit of trouble setting up some basic settings. i'm sure it has to do with my setup which is slightly confusing at least to me. i have a new touch and a new vortexbox. i am having a confusing time trying to figure out how to get them to play nice together. i am trying to use the vortexbox as strictly a ripping NAS and have my computer powered off when listening. VB also has squeezecenter built into it and can be used as a standalone player. but seeing as how i have a nice new full color touch, i would rather use that as my player. so in squeezecenter, i can choose between the two players - VB and touch. if i choose VB, i can go to basic settings and see all the basic settings. but if i choose touch, all that shows up under basic settings are: language, library name, music and playlist location and rescan? what am i doing wrong? -- ratso Emerald Physics CS2.3's - Odyssey Stratos/Khartago amps (coming soon) - Supratek Chardonnay Preamp - Slim Devices Touch - Panamax M4300PM power conditioner - KRK Ergo room correction - Cables by Me! ratso's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=11493 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=77830 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Last few seconds of song being cut off...
In my case, the problem occurs with the Touch's onboard server. I haven't used the server over wifi much, but I'll try to get some testing in over the weekend. If the problem is due to encoding, I'm not sure what I can do to fix it. As I said, most of my music is in Apple Lossless encoded using iTunes, which doesn't have any options for that codec. Some of it was originally in FLAC transcoded using dbPoweramp, but I've had the problem with files originally ripped with iTunes. -- MadCityGeoff MadCityGeoff's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17429 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=77809 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

Right now there is one music stream coming out of squeezeplay which gets cloned in the ALSA config file to both the digital out and the DAC chip. In order to have separate volumes you would need to add another output stream which had its own volume control. Plus of course all the UI and prefs etc. I personally would prefer the choice. In some setups I want to use volume control on the digital out and sometimes I'm using volume control on an external preamp and would like to implement the "virtual volume" on the Touch: keep the output actually at 100% but allow applet to grab the volume setting to send to external preamp. So the real issue is to be able to spin down the disk. Thats actually a different issue. There are a couple possible ways to do that from a linux device (the Touch runs linux), I will try and remember to try those out this weekend. If I can find one that works I'll throw together a quick and dirty applet you can try. It won't work from the power button, you will have to click either the spin-up or spin-down button in its own page. The advantage of this is that it doesn't actually disconnect the drive, its still connected to the USB bus so the server is still up and running, but the drive itself is not spinning. The big advantage is that it will wake up in a few seconds and be ready to play, rather than having to start up the server and do a rescan of the disk. This may not work, there are reports that some USB disks do not respond to the spin-down command. Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Is there any way to adjust the spectrum display?
I think I see whats happening. Its performing an FFT, which results in a linear frequency result. Most spectrum analyzers show log frequency not linear. The result is something that doesn't look right. Rather than convert to log frequency a mapping function is applied to the amplitudes to try and make it look more like what people are expecting. I think the best way to go is dump the amplitude mapping and really convert the linear frequency to log frequency. Its not that hard to do. You need to run the FFT with more frequency bands than you have on the display, and average the bands, with more bands averaged together on the top and fewer on the bottom. The code is already there to do it, but its doing a linear averaging (the same number of bands per output bar). If the number of output bars on the display is kept the same you will need to increase the number of frequency bands in the FFT. So I think the best compromise is to decrease the number of output bars (to say 8 or 10) and keep the number of bands about the same. This should give a much more accurate display without taking much more cpu cycles. Of course this is all in C so it has to get compiled into the firmware. It would probably be much faster to debug this in desktop squeezeplay where you can get much faster turn around time. Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Missing album artwork
There a few potential issues here. First of all, iTunes treats artwork in a proprietary way - i.e. it stores the artwork in a special folder which can't be accessed by the Squeezebox software (whether you are running the full software or the internal Touch server). The software should be able to read embedded artwork, but you need to specifically do this (embed the artwork) in iTunes or using another bit of software - and then rescan your files. What most people do (and this works well with the server software and using the internal touch server) is to add the artwork as a separate file in the same folder as the files - so I have: AlbumFolder/file.mp3, file2.mp3, file3.mp3 and folder.jpg for the artwork. That works well for the touch. Really big artwork (800x800 plus) does impact on performance and can cause the scanner to crash. There is a wiki page on album artwork which lists some tools which may help. -- Siduhe Who am I on 'LAST.FM' (http://www.last.fm/user/siduhe)? "-Siduhe Loved Tracks radio got the thumbs up. I guess I am use to the idea of expecting everything to be networked that I find it odd when someone expects a device like this to work without a network. Honestly though if all you wanted was a stand alone music player why not go for something like the Archos? http://www.archos.com/products/imt/archos_5/index.html?country=us&lang=en It is designed to be a portable tablet but have some nice stands for desktop use. Well if you grab the VUs from jstraws post using Erlands patch installer you get a much nice looking VU that has the needle pivoting instead of the odd sliding it does in the stock VU. This detail makes it a little more pleasing. However for making it smoother it seems the VU needs more frames. If you see how jstraw had to make the graphics basically it is one image with a bunch "slides" of the VU at different needle positions, I think it needs more images with less change between needle positions. On the > other hand, Class-A tranny amps and valve amps need a period of warm-up > to let the quiescent current/temperature stabilise. I HAVE heard caps get worse during "burn in". Specifically VitaminQ paper in oil high voltage caps will sound pretty good when first installed, but after 10 hours of running music they sound abysmal, harsh, grungy, very yucky sound. After another 15 hours or so they start getting better and by about 30 hours are about where they started. Between 30 and 50 hours they improve some more and sound better than they did originally. Every VitaminQ I have ever used goes through this process. Other brands of paper in oil caps go through something similar but with a different time table. Some take only 5 hours to sound awful. Plastic film caps (polypropelyne, polystyrene, polyester) don't have this wild behavior. I have heard some improve somewhat over time, but not nearly like the paper in oil. Transformers also definitely burn in. Something about the magnetic properties of the core changing while the domains realign themselves constantly for the first several hours of use. How much and how long it takes is very dependent on the core material used. Nickel behaves very differently than steel in this regard, and cobalt yet again quite different. There is another completely different effect which is warm up. This happens every time the device is turned on. Most electronic components DO change there electrical properties with temperature. Even digital audio can be affected by this. I have looked into this extensively and found at least two methods by how temperature changes can effect digital audio. First is the resistance of the transistors inside the digital circuits. Cold FETS have a lower resistance than hot FETS. This causes the circuits to switch faster which means the switching currents induce greater voltage drops/bounce on the power traces inside chips and even in the ground planes on boards. This is not fiction, its actually quite easy so see. Unless extraordinary measures are taken this noise WILL affect clock circuits and even analog circuits. Its especially noticeable in some DAC chips. They sound much better as they warm up. I did an experiment where I took a cheap DVD player and glued a resistor to the top of the DAC chip and fed it DC current to warm up the chip. I also added a thermocouple to the chip to take its temperature. I could radically change the sound of that DVD player by warming up the DAC chip. It sounded much better as it got hot. Of course at some point it stopped working altogether, so it CAN be over done! This might be one of the reasons I like DAC chips that get fairly warm in operation. BTW some DAC chips are very sensitive to temperature and others not nearly as much. The other method is in oscillators themselves. Many crystal oscillators actually have lower jitter when they are warm. Crystal ovens are not JUST for stabilizing the frequency. In my own designs I like to use oscillators that get fairly warm, the jitter is lower than cool running ones. These effects are actually exhibited in the Touch, but since the temperature doesn't rise by a lot between cold and on for a long time the difference is not very great. I've seen DVD players that have powerful DSP chips that get VERY hot exhibit these effects to a large degree. I did not notice any burn in effects in the Touch, but I CAN hear warm up effects, but its not very much. I suppose I should try the "resistor on the DAC chip" test on the Touch and see what happens. [SlimDevices: Touch] Should volume control only affect the analog outputs?
For years, Squeezebox Classic allowed users to lock the volume at 100%. It used to be that locking the volume 'only affected the digital output' (http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=9053) -- analog output remained variable. A while back a firmware update to SB Classic changed that behavior -- now locking the volume at 100% affects analog and digital. Fast forward to Squeezebox Touch. There is no fixed volume setting; the volume control always affects both analog and digital. This causes problems for some users, especially those who use digital output and play music through processors like DTS decoders that need bit-perfect output. It has been suggested that perhaps 'the digital output should always be fixed at 100%' (http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=14807#c10) (I assume *with* the option to use ReplayGain). That raises the question -- would it be OK if the *digital* outputs were always fixed at 100%, if the volume control only affected the analog outputs? -- peterw http://www.tux.org/~peterw/ Free plugins: 'AllQuiet' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/AllQuiet.html) 'Auto Dim/AutoDisplay' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/AutoDisplay.html) 'BlankSaver' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/BlankSaver.html) 'ContextMenu' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/ContextMenu.html) 'DenonSerial' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/DenonSerial.html) 'FuzzyTime' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/FuzzyTime.html) 'KidsPlay' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/KidsPlay.html) 'KitchenTimer' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/KitchenTimer.html) 'PlayLog' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/PlayLog.html) 'PowerCenter/BottleRocket' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/PowerCenter.html) 'SaverSwitcher' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/SaverSwitcher.html) 'SettingsManager' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/SettingsManager.html) 'SleepFade' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/SleepFade.html) 'StatusFirst' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/StatusFirst.html) 'SyncOptions' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/SyncOptions.html) 'VolumeLock' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/VolumeLock.html) peterw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2107 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=77824 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

Doing what I suggested > will embed it. Then wherever you use this file the art work will show > up (including squeezeboxserver) I figured out that copy-paste work around in iTunes for Windows when my album art was often missing from my iPod. I found the artwork on the net and copied it, selected all songs within the album (in iTunes via get info), and pasted the artwork into the thumbnail box for the songs. When I synced the songs to my iPod, that fixed the missing artwork for the iPod. I went through that process for every album I have (all ripped to ALAC via iTunes. And I manage the folders manually so I can easily copy and back up selected artists/albums.) After receiving the Touch, I copied a few of the music folders from my PC to a usb flash drive to see how the Touch works. Sadly, the artwork is missing from many of the songs when I play them through the Touch. I also noticed a problem where some songs stop playing with abut 30 seconds remaining, and the Touch just goes to the next song -- even with crossfade off. Someone else mentioned the same problem in one of the SBT forums. I'm not sure if it indicates a corrupted file or something else or if it's related to this issue or not. Other than that, everything else on the Touch works great. I was particularly surprised at how much I like the internet radio feature. Pandora, last.fm, etc. are really cool, and the sound quality is way better than I expected. -- davematthews davematthews's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=37754 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=77704 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

Well here is your main issue. Squeezeboxes are at the heart Network Media Players, the key point being "Network". While the Touch can operate without a network, that is not really the target usage. So you may run into little niggles do to using it outside its design. That said I believe a bug has been reported concerning the clock losing time, however the solution for that most likely will be to provide some form of "blinking 12:00" since like a VCR the Touch does not have the hardware to maintain time between power resets. The older squeezeboxes could not even maintain time without a network! They were sent time updates from the server. If they lost connection to the server they could no longer display the current time. The orignal SB design was a thin client, SqueezeOS on the newer devices is slowly evolving them to a thick client and in the case of the Touch a full server. Still growing pains on the Full Server part and that is rumored to be why the devices launch was delayed as much as it was to solve as many of those issues as possible. I am sure they are working hard to polish out those other little niggles. However if I were you I would look into trying to get a wifi network active just so the Touch can access mysqueezecenter. That would probably help solve some of your current issues without needing to setup full on SBS. As for the VU updates I have not tried them with the Touch running as the server so not sure how they look in that case. With them running attached to SBS the refresh I find to be pretty good, it could be smoother but I think that is more of an issue with the number of graduates it has the the refresh. Now it is possible that with the Touch acting as a server the devices refresh is slowed down and makes it jumpier. -- m1abrams m1abrams's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=850 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=77810 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Fad hum on the headset out
I've noticed on many different devices that this could cause a hum: A modified sine wave source- which usually is from using a poor quality UPS. Make sure you're not plugged in through anything like that- if you're using a UPS, make sure it's "true sine" or "pure sine" wave. That can make a big difference. You may also get this effect if you plug into a DC to AC power inverter from a solar-powered system or your car. -- FredFredrickson FredFredrickson's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16584 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=77816 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Altering the angle of the Touch
Fortunately it's angled far back so adjustment is typically to lean it further forward. It would be much more difficult to lean it back fruther and keep it stationary when you use it. I've read here of somebody using legos and blue-tack (I used to know that as fun-tack). It would have been nice to see it made adjustable, but it would have complicated the design and probably would have been more expensive. I like the fact that there is no wiggle room what-so-ever in the stand. That would have been hard to acheive with an adjustable stand. The bail bar in the back is removable making the Touch wall mountable. I wonder if it would be possible to loosen the screws and wedge something in there to acheive a different angle without shearing the screws. I'll have a look when I get home. -- maggior Rich - Setup: 2 SB3s, 4 Booms, 1 Duet, 1 Receiver, 1 Touch. SuSE 11.0 Server running SqueezeBoxServer 7.5.0, MusicIP, and SqueezeSlave. Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] how to view pics on touch
I have started using Image Viewer as my "Screensaver when off". Once my sister-in-law disparagingly commented on why I'd gotten such a dinky digital picture frame. So I walked over to the Touch and brought up SBS, asked her what music she liked, and grabbed the first artist she mentioned off of Napster in a few seconds. She's still confused. -- aubuti aubuti's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2074 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=77792 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] balance?
Balance is something that theoretically can be done, but its probably not trivial. My guess is that it will take modifying the C code that is implementing the volume control so its not even something that can be implemented as a patch. On top of that you need a GUI for specifying it. It should also probably be something accessable through the web UI and CLI mode. Then of course things like iPeng should probably include it. A lot of work but could be done. Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Touch keeps doing different things
Ok maybe his issue is related to others who have had issues with the "off" screensaver not activating. One thing that maybe an issue for you is that the default setting for the Touch in "off" mode is to display the Clock screensaver. Well the Touch does not have a real-time clock that can maintain time while unplugged or even through reset. So I wonder if the issue is that since the Touch is unable to set the time it fails to switch to the Clock screensaver. This is strictly me going through a logic exercise and could be completely WRONG. Have you tried changing the "off" screensaver to nothing? Also note: "off" in squeezebox world just means stop playing music and switch immediately to the "off" screensaver. Everything else is the same so you really have no power savings from "on" and music paused. -- m1abrams m1abrams's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=850 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=77810 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
