I have set-up a new PiCorePlayer configuration with a Raspberry Pi 2, and, as you have adviced me, without the HiFiBerry hat, and Squeezelite Player turned off. Unfortunately I have exactly the same problem.. I have tried to synchronize my Touch with one of my SB Radios, resulting in much more drop-outs on both devices... Very strange that this problem does not happen at all on my other PiCorePlayer (running LMS and Squeezelite with the HiFiBerry DAC) in combination with another PiCorePlayer (without LMS, only the Squeezelite player)... 2 x PiCoreplayer, 2 x Squeezebox Radio, 1 x Squeezebox Touch tomsat50's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56916 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107656 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

It shouldn't be necessary. I know it is a pain but have you tried the Pi running LMS without the DAC+ attached to it? My set up is fairly similar except that my Pi that runs LMS is dedicated as a server - Squeezelite is disabled. It's pCp 3.20 with NFS mount to QNAP. Same version of LMS as you and same Spotty. No, I do not use the sync. feature... the audio drops are quite consistent, it happens 9 of 10 time. I wonder if I can increase the buffering of the stream somewhere, but I cannot find that option in the system. I also have problems with audio 'drops' of 1 to 2 seconds, most of the time near the end of a track when playing music from my Spotify playlists. Have tried 2 different hard drives with it, one was one that spins down when idle and the problem occurred, but wasn't related to it having spun down, the other drive is full time spinning and the problem is still there. I have also had the problem in last couple of days when using the ReadyNas as the file server, a problem it never had before. Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Spotify help - Raspberry Pi the answer?
Trying to use an external hard drive (with its own power supply) for my music library, plugged direct into USB of Raspberry Pi3. No problem mounting the drive, and pointing LMS at it. LMS also scans the library and will play tracks as usual, except it will sometimes pause during a track. If I turn on a second synced Squeeze Touch then it really starts to have problems with regular pauses during songs and even inability to play succeeding tracks. Is it just that the Pi3 can't cope with it? Thoughts? Has anyone got a Pi and external drive working together successfully? No problems at all if I point it at a network drive library. When I shifted from running LMS on the QNAP to a Raspberry PI, I faced the same: I used a text editor (nano) on the Pi to edit the playlists to reflect the new path to the files. I don't have many playlists, so it wasn't too much trouble. I daresay that a BASH script could automate the process. In the pCP setup, LMS always uses /usr/local/slimserver/Cache, /usr/local/slimserver/Cache is a hard symbolic link to wherever the cache is actually stored. (So what you describe is physically the same location) If you were to use the option in the pCP web pages to move the LMS cache to a USB stick. pCP automatically changes that symlink to the new location. paul-'s Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=58858 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107656 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Spotify help - Raspberry Pi the answer?
Am loving pCP on the Raspberry, leaves the ReadyNAS duo V2 for dead for speed, ease of use, etc. One thing I would like to be able to do is still use the playlists that I set up while using LMS on the ReadyNAS. I have about 60 playlists of music from my own library that I created painstakingly in the dying days of SMARTMIX. I created lists from every of my favourite seed tracks, and have been playing them on random... almost just like the old days! Problem is that now that LMS on pCP is pointed at the ReadyNAS library, and also pointed at the PLAYLISTS folder on the ReadyNAS, when I select a playlist in LMS pCP it is reported as empty. Obviously the m3u files are pointing in the wrong direction. Do I need to place that playlist elsewhere, or is it a lost cause? I edited my last post about 20 minutes ago, so you may not have seen it. Oops... Since posting this I have uninstalled the SyncOptions plugin as it seemed to be causing a problem. I have also updated LMS 7.9.1 to build 1501791870. Interesting to note that the DENON plugin has now installed without the need for the repo that Paul had set up for the DENON plugin. Michael, did you tweak something in the latest 7.9.1 update that fixed that? No, I didn't. I have the DENON plugin dropped into /tce/slimserver/Cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins And, as mentioned before, this is the wrong place! InstalledPlugins is managed by the LMS plugin installer. Anything you put in there manually will be removed again. I realize now that the plugins folder I had dropped the DENON folder into was /mnt/mmcblk0p2/tce/slimserver/Cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins, and that was where the folder kept disappearing from upon second restart. You must NOT use Slim/Plugin. That's part of the distribution. On my system the folder would be /usr/local/slimserver/Plugins - don't know whether this is being backed up by pCP, though. Good point. Gotcha, any specific reason that Plugins could not be in the Cache folder as well? Of course you could set up your own. But this shouldn't be needed. If you have a copy of the folder (or zip file), just drop it in to the Plugins folder (not Slim/Plugin and not InstalledPlugins). I'm doing this all the time, in production as well as during development. This should definitely work. With a pCP based install, the Slim/Plugin folder is not archived. You could of coarse manually add the plugin to the backup set. Hmmm. You must NOT use Slim/Plugin. That's part of the distribution. This should really be in a different thread...if your problems continue, start a new thread in the server area. But I can confirm that it was LMS removing the Plugin.. Anyway, I pulled the latest version from google code, and dumped it on github. Add this to your repo list Code: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/paul-1/DenonAvpControl/master/repo.xml It will install fine.I can't test anything else, since I don't have the right hardware. paul-'s Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=58858 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107656 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

paul- wrote: > Is this what you are using > > https://code.google.com/archive/p/denonavpcontrol/ Yes, that is the one. Interestingly the download that I have been using included one additional file, REPO.XML, so I downloaded the 1.9.2 version (which is what I had been using as far as I know) and have tried to install it. Same outcome, the DENON plugin files and folders disappear after the second required restart. Between the first and second restarts the plugin can be accessed to change settings and works. Hello again Paul, Looking at the log I had posted previously it seems there are a lot of lines not relating to the DNON plugin install, so I thought I should restart pCP and then do my DENON plugin manual install. The following log commences during a reboot of pCP (and LMS), and ends with my 2nd manual LMS restart (third in log) when requested by LMS due to the new plugin. I have allowed 5 minutes approx between LMS restarts. Between my 2 restarts the plugin was working, although not appearing in the LMS plugin list. I turned a SBT on and the plugin turned on the amp. I played a song, and adjusted the volume via SBT and the amp responded. I then turned off SBT and the amp remotely turned off... plugin operating correctly. After the final LMS restart the plugin had again disappeared: [17-07-31 08:48:01.2810] main::init (387) Starting Logitech Media Server (v7.9.1, 1499900819, Tue Jul 25 04:09:22 UTC 2017) perl 5.024000 - arm-linux-gnueabihf-thread-multi-64int [17-07-31 08:54:15.8031] main::init (387) Starting Logitech Media Server (v7.9.1, 1499900819, Tue Jul 25 04:09:22 UTC 2017) perl 5.024000 - arm-linux-gnueabihf-thread-multi-64int [17-07-31 09:02:02.0274] main::init (387) Starting Logitech Media Server (v7.9.1, 1499900819, Tue Jul 25 04:09:22 UTC 2017) perl 5.024000 - arm-linux-gnueabihf-thread-multi-64int Nothing shows up in the server.log. Grr More experimentation last night... while LMS gui is asking for a restart due to plugin DENON I am able to go to PLAYER/DENON and change settings, make it active etc. It still hasn't appeared in the plugin list yet though. Turn on the player and the app works, it controls my amplifier, as it always has in the past. As soon as I restart LMS it is broken, even if I do a basckup of pCP to SD first. There is something during the restart that wipes the DENON files. Malcolm some of this background would have been very useful to everyone when we started the journey lol. Anyway, the piCorePlayer LMS system will be a much better experience and you can control it in the same manner as the QNAP LMS. I sent you via pm a link to download a preconfigured picoreplayer image that I made last Friday (to save some hassle for you). So if you still have a problem tomorrow that is not resolved, pm your telephone number to me and I can call Friday afternoon to help you sort things out. you seem to be nearly there ;) ronnie Man in a van's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=43627 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107656 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Spotify help - Raspberry Pi the answer?
This "Restart" with pCp has only been a recent development and I'm not sure if it applies to v7.9.0, but I have had it in V7.9.1 since a LMS update a week or so ago. I did a fresh pcp ( I think it was 3.02) install for testing on Wednesday am and I had to manually restart LMS from the pcp web gui (this was going from v7.90 up to v 7.9.1) I have not mentioned to anyone doing a first time install as I thought that it would a) confuse the issues even more and b) Im not sure when it becomes default behaviour and c) I forgot all about it. I know that it can take a heck of a long time to work though and the only indication in Windows is a spinning circle and a small notice saying "connecting to 192.1.168.***. Perhaps this is causing some of the problems for folk who are new to pcp (forget about the age lol ;)) ronnie Man in a van's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=43627 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107656 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

You need to navigate to a folder containing a working plugin and examine the properties of the files & folders - I think its a right click in both - and note down the user / group and the octal (0777 etc or sometimes displayed graphically with check boxes RWX etc) Then go to the top level of one of your non-working plugins that you moved in there and apply the same ownership and permissions recursively. If they are already the same as a working one then that probably isn't the issue. *Pi3 with piCoreplayer music on QNAP TS419p via NFS* iThingys/iPeng/Tablets/Jogglers *Living Room* - Joggler & SB3 -> Onkyo TS606 - > Celestion Ditton F20s *Office* - Pi -> Sony TA FE320 -> Celestion F10s / Pi & SB3 -> Onkyo CRN 755 -> Wharfedale Modus Cubes *Dining Room* -> SB Boom *Kitchen* -> UE Radio (upgraded to SB Radio) *Bedroom (Bedside)* - SB Touch -> Topping TP21 -> AKG Headphones d6jg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44051 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107656 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

And we are 100% confident that it is a valid plugin. The name is Michael trying to tell people that the plugin does not provide a "Spotify Connect" interface (yet). If you don't know what Spotify Connect is then look it up on Google. d6jg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44051 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107656 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

On piCorePlayer the pop up is a warning to tell you to restart LMS but you have to do it via the piCorePlayer interface. Clicking the pop up is just an acknowledgement.
