Re: [Trisquel-users] Do DRM free games matter even if the game is non-free?
"I just think that if less people did it and swallowed their pride for the greater good of a project, that we would have better quality free software code." People say this so much but whenever anyone sits down and tries to do this, nobody agrees on what project to focus on as everyone has different preferences. I feel like it's a pointless thought, though I'd like to know what projects you have in mind that could specifically use this?
Re: [Trisquel-users] How to change fonts size of "leafs" in libreoffice?
You can't, at least not as a setting, from what I'm aware. The appearence of the leaf depends on the theme you use, I am guessing it's the GTK theme in your case. Try to use another theme. You're shipping non-free software if people want so. Debian is delivering non-free software in their repos if people want so. It's NOTHING different and the point that you're not a distro doesn't harm my point in the slightest. Re: [Trisquel-users] Do DRM free games matter even if the game is non-free?
Many game companies like EA and Rockstar HATE Free software so badly, They dont even release their games for GNU/Linux (for Rockstar, i think this is true, but i may be wrong). Some companies release their game engines as free software, Like Id Software's Old ID tech engines and Ken-Silverman's Build engine (technially non-free, Because it's free for non-commercial use only.) There is some nonfree developers like Valve who Embrace GNU/Linux and even make a Distro. Digital (Restictions) Management is extremely bad for freedom Lovers. I agree with that. What if your favourite game is non-free? Do you find a GNU/Linux version of the nonfree game, or you settle in for a Free-Software clone like minetest, Openarena, Etc.

I don't know why there aren't any nonprofit game developers that develop games with libre engines. By "non-profit" I mean they make money, but the primary goal is their mission and it could be lobbying to make cracking DRM legal and reverse engineering game engines.

You dodged my point using false logic. "Haha, but the reverse is true and all people that make proprietary stuff are? Thanks for proving my point. :)" The correct reverse from the sentence is that there are people out there who are assholes and want to make stuff proprietary - which is true. With your set of arguments you _can_ justify 1. "Stop making proprietary games, it's unethical" 2. "Develop free software games in your free time" You _can't_ justify "Those unimaginative proprietary game developers could as well make their games free and still earn money; they're just too evil for it" because you have no idea how this can be done. I hear all this time this stuff about LIBRE is not gratis - well yeah, in theory maybe but there is a reason why most libre projects ARE gratis.

Should you use your favorite color for your wedding dresses online? What happens if your favorite color is yellow and your wedding day is in the winter? It's still your wedding and your choice if you want to use military ball gowns, but you may not want to use yellow as the main wedding color of your wedding theme but more of an accent color such as the mini roses in the bouquets or as the ribbon around with your wedding favor winter wedding dress.Color matching with your wedding guest dresses can be used in so many ways for weddings. From an accent color to the main color theme used in everything from the bridal party in the winter dress to the table cloths and napkins at the reception. It is up to you how much color, or how little color of it you want to use. Some of the prettiest weddings we have seen have used multiple colors or shades of the same color of your informal wedding dresses throughout the planning of their weddings to the actual event. One color of your unique wedding dresses is used for the bridal shower, another color for the ceremony, followed by combining the colors for the reception.

You seem to have a counter argument for everything don't you? :-) I just don't see the point in continuously having to ask money from people again and again through multiple rounds of funding. That's how you start to irritate your backers and they just want to you to release the damn thing already.
[Trisquel-users] Re : Jitsi/XMPP
I just downloaded Jitsi from synaptic. Like mYself told you, you should install the latest (2.8) version from https://download.jitsi.org/jitsi/debian/ I'm completely lost, I don't understand a thing about where to register, and why. You need an XMPP account on any XMPP server. It is like email where you need an email account on any email server to send/receive messages to/from any other user. I intend to write a short guide about making all these findings of mine about privacy/anonymity/security simple to understand and apply. And you use Skype (the worst ever) as soon as you face a difficulty?! If you do not care about encryption (like Jitsi provides), you can use Firefox Hello, which is shipped with Firefox/Abrowser/Iceweasel/etc. since version 34. It cannot be simpler: the software is already installed on most GNU/Linux systems and there is no need to create an account. And it works very well (including video chats with several interlocutors).
Re: [Trisquel-users] Do DRM free games matter even if the game is non-free?
I get what you mean, I see free software supporters as a spectrum thing instead of a binary false dichotomy. There are are people that are dependent on non-free software and can't afford the switching costs of spending downtime to learn something like Blender, but appreciate the free software philosophy and then there's people that install Coreboot and everywhere in between. While I don't have all non-free software purged from my computer, I have my fullest respects to people like you and moxalt and the people at FSF that really stick to their guns. Especially with the FSF video on User Liberation, I watched it and the first thought that came to my mind was "Phh, I bet they payed a guy to make this and he used the Adobe flash animator" and I was pleasantly surprised to find the sources for that video and that's something worth admiring. That said, I do plan on experimenting with Trisquel and I would even build a KFSN4-DRE Workstation and install Coreboot on it and document my experiment.

"I just don't see the point in continuously having to ask money from people again and again through multiple rounds of funding. Yeah, if the people running the project are horrible and can't effectively plan and are always running out of money. "Oh, I know I said $20,000 would be enough but I was wrong and now need an additional $20,000 and then I'll be able to finish it. Oh, now I need $20,000 more but this really is the last time I promise." That shows poor planning and execution as I said.

By saying Linux I was thinking about all systems with Linux kernel, not only GNU/Linux. At this moment my main system is Windows, but I'm trying to change this. I don't like Microsoft policy (like almost everybody I think). > You could try installing the non-free drivers by downloading them from the non-free Debian repository and them installing them with dpkg manually. [Trisquel-users] Re : Wi-Fi and Hybrid graphics
I have Nvidia GTX 760 on my desktop PC, and it works fine on Kubuntu with opensource (I think so) drivers. The driver may be free software but not the firmware. You can try to install the latest Linux-libre kernel from jxself's repository: https://trisquel.info/en/wiki/update-linux-libre-kernel If the card still does not work, you can almost certainly conclude that proprietary software in Kubuntu's kernel makes it work (and harms your freedoms). Will it works under some free drivers? The relevant information is the chipset, which is almost never indicated (unless you buy second-hand to a seller that shows the output of 'lsusb'). To the best of my knowledge, only ThinkPenguin and Tehnoetic guarantee that the hardware they sell works with Linux-libre (hence with 100% free GNU/Linux distributions such as Trisquel). If you randomly buy a Wifi card, just expect it to not work.

Re: [Trisquel-users] Do DRM free games matter even if the game is non-free?
Well, you do see collaboration on big projects, but that tends to be by multiple corporations who have a vested interest. Something that comes to mind is the Vulkan graphics project. It is happening because all these companies want a better graphics stack and become less reliant on DirectX. The nice thing about Vulkan is that GNU/Linux games will not be second class citizens to their Windows ones. Free or not.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Do DRM free games matter even if the game is non-free?
"Let's say you pay for tickets to go to a concert or live standup or sketch comedy. That guy off the street who didn't pay shouldn't have the right to view it as they do not have the right to do so." However, it's legal and a common task for fans to upload videos of concerts and standup acts. You'll find a massive amount of them on Youtube. "hey created something for you and provide the best method to share with you so they can have the income to continue to create in the future." If putting excessive fines on someone (and, perhaps, a prison sentence or two) for sharing art is the "best method [...] so they can have income" then that would be, perhaps, alright. But it isn't the best method so they can have income, nor is it the only method. For movies? Most films get a very good profit from being in movie theatres-- film companies could survive without even releasing to stream and DVD! Merchandise also is a great way to make a profit-- have you even seen Despicable Me 2's merch?! Merchandise makes a profit because a lot of people have seen the movie-- the best way to make the film available to more people and make a larger mech profit is to allow non-commercial distribution of the film. There are also people that prefer to have a nice DVD (Or a $200 "extra-special" DVD for die-hard fans)-- these people wouldn't die out because, in their eyes, MP4s just aren't the same as DVDs. For TV shows? Mostly the same. But also, adverts. Under the hypothesized copyright system of "non-commercial distribution allowed," derivatives would still be illegal. The TV show could release it's digital formats with adverts actually in the video, so that when you download it there would be short commercial breaks in the media's file. Since users can't remove them legally, you could still sue the living heck out of people that remove commercial breaks and put the non-commercial-ed versions on The Pirate Bay or some such thing. Not the best or most ethical outcome, but way better than what we have today. For music? Mostly the same, too. Concerts, CDs, signed stuff, merch, digital copies. For smaller artists, donations are also an option. For games? Offering online services for the game, like multiplayer, leaderboards, etc. (Hell, you could sell hats for use on the online server.) Physical copies of the game (And again, $200 uber-mega-special editions for fan-fans), and merch. For smaller devs, donations are also an option. Also, selling the game itself online, and not providing a gratis download. There could also be a customer support "DRM" sort of thing. Upon purchasing the game, you get a key to make an account for the online server, and this allows you customer service you couldn't get without the key. Server hosting for less centralized games (Think Minetest or Minecraft) is another way the devs could profit. Perhaps a partnership with a server hosting company for an ad on their page.

Re: [Trisquel-users] Wi-Fi and Hybrid graphics
The wireless card not working has nothing to do with a "GNU license". It's much more simple than that: there simply isn't any libre software that can be used with these devices. In fact, a lot of wireless devices have this problem. The only solution is to buy a new one. Think Penguin is a good place to get new hardware (all hardware they sell is compatible with libre software): http://libre.thinkpenguin.com There's also Tehnoetic if you want the small USB adapter: https://tehnoetic.com/tehnoetic-wireless-adapter-gnu-linux-libre-tet-n150

[Trisquel-users] Wi-Fi and Hybrid graphics
Hi all, At the beginning I would like to say that I am new in Linux and Trisquel. I have two problems with Trisquel at the moment. First, wireless network card in my notebook doesn't seem to work at all. I've read that Intel wireless network cards doesn't work with Trisquel, because of GNU license. Unfortunately I have: "Intel Corporation Centrino Wireless-N 135 (rev c4)" (form "lspci" command). So, is there any way to force this card to work with Trisquel? I don't really want to buy any additional Wi-Fi adapter, but if it is necessary, which would be good to work with Trisquel? I am thinking about some USB nano cards. Second, I have two graphic cards in my notebook: Intel (with CPU) that works, and Nvidia Geforce GT 640M that I don't know how to enable. Is Trisquel support hybrid graphics? If yes, how can I enable my Nvidia card? Thanks for any help. PS Sorry for my English, I am not native speaker and I am still learning.
Re: [Trisquel-users] What games do you play on your computers
rms and the FSF have no problem, as far as I know, with non-free assets as long as the software is free. As for this forum, opinions vary. Personally, I have no problem with non-free assets used with free software. I play OpenMW.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Wi-Fi and Hybrid graphics
> Linux GNU/Linux, GNU+Linux, or GNU. Linux is a kernel for UNIX-likes. > So, is there any way to force this card to work with Trisquel? This appears to be caused by a lack of compatible firmware in Trisquel, because Trisquel only provides free firmware while the GNU+Linux compatible firmware that Intel releases is probably redistributable, but non-free. Fear not! You could try installing the non-free drivers by downloading them from the non-free Debian repository and them installing them with dpkg manually. For a somewhat more comprehensive solution, try installing Debian instead. > Nvidia Geforce GT 640M that I don't know how to enable. Again, a firmware issue. Nvidia is notorious for not cooperating with the free software community. I doubt even Debian can solve this problem, however. > PS Sorry for my English, I am not a native speaker Trust me, your written English is far better than some native speakers here.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Jitsi/XMPP
Either that or compile from source I guess, for added safety. Thanks for the info, I'll try it if Pidgin fails. I'm not yet comfortable with compiling.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Do DRM free games matter even if the game is non-free?
I'm no web design expert, so forgive my ignorance. can't the N°1 and 2 points be replaced by Wordpress or similar? About offering the source code for a fee: I remember the guys at Ardour doing that. But I wouldn't separate it from buying the program. I think it's best to educate people to compile the program for themselves. After all, the compiled package can be compiled from a slightly modified source. About the watermark: if it's very well hidden (or there are several instances of it), it could "maybe" work as an identifier. But then what? confront the offender? After saying he's sorry, then what? What I'm saying is I wonder if it's effective. The creators of Frogatto seem to have a good model.
Re: [Trisquel-users] What games do you play on your computers
i personally would play doom for example with the non-free media as although i think people should be able to redistribute it (especially considering its age) it would not help anyone by me not using the non-free media and its fun to play doom software is different as it can actively impose its own restrictions on you if its non-free and if you don’t have the source code its a privacy/security/freedom nightmare if there was media that could impose its own restrictions on me and i could not fix this then i would not use it

Re: [Trisquel-users] Jitsi/XMPP
I know, hence my reply to mYself. I'd rather compile from source, and since I'm not yet fully comfortable with that, I tried Pidgin first. After finding a server address to write down, it worked. I have yet to make another account and try the audio+video. So, I'm not giving up, I was just venting off my frustration. Skype is temporary. I was frustrated because it seemed to work just right, then when trying to set up an account for someone else, it didn't work. And from there, not even my first account worked. Nothing worked. And there wasn't enough feedback from Jitsi for me to clearly understand what's going on. Even the Mac version of Jitsi was not working well (or there wasn't enough feedback) for account creation, so that's another reason to feel frustrated. Specially at the crucial moment when it's supposed to convince other users. It should be much more accessible. Thanks for the XMPP explanation, and Firefox Hello.

The wiki page that was announcing Mir was showing a great ignorance on what problems Wayland was solving so that the page could state that Mir will solve problems that Wayland won't. Did I misunderstand you or was it just a childish giggling-comment since you can't come up with good arguments?
[Trisquel-users] Re : Do DRM free games matter even if the game is non-free?
You do not get it. If you forget about the tiny proportion of superstars who are far too rich, no artist has *ever* made any income from selling records. In the case of music, the average percentage that used to go to artist is something like 2%. That is 15-20% if the artist is a superstar and 0% if she is not! The percentage is even lower for files sold online. Buying records is not supporting artists. The copyright law is not in the interest of the artists! Almost all artists who live from their arts have done so through live performances. Be it before Napster or after it. In fact Napster (and, more generally, the Internet) have made them richer! Because it has helped them get some fame, hence more spectators at their live performances, hence more income. And it turns out it is true for all arts. That is what the NY Times reported. That is what any independent study (i.e., not funded by Universal & co.) have concluded on in the past 10 years or so. Now if you care about Britney Spears not being able to afford another $100 million house... well, I don't!
[Trisquel-users] Re : Do DRM free games matter even if the game is non-free?
If anything, getting the money upfront through a crowd-funding campaign is a safer route than the one traditionally taken by proprietary game editors. I mean what is your answer to the following question: "What happens when your sales to not compensate for the development costs?". Getting the money upfront allows to plan development expenses that will not exceed the amount that was raised.

I do not know how many times, people told you that: free software does not mean it is gratis. Crowd-funding the development of free software basically is paying for that free software and it is perfectly fine: https://www.gnu.org/philosophy/selling.html In other words, it is OK for anything "to be not gratis". What is not OK is to deny the users her fundamental freedoms.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Do DRM free games matter even if the game is non-free?
A successful libre game is really few and far in-between if you are going the crowd funding route. Like I said in a previous post, the most successful ones have a name or property tied to it. Shenmue 3 was able to bypass 2 million dollars within hours of the crowd funding release. You would think that more people would have a greater piece of mind by funding a FLOSS project because they could go "oh I paid for this game and I get to look at the code and own it in some way" but the majority of people really couldn't give a damn. All they want is the final game and the experience. "With the same (wrong) argument, you could state that free software will never penetrate the server market. Wait..." That comment kinda irked me a little. It brings in to a prior discussion where software, when used as a tool, should always have a FLOSS version/alternative. I use nginx for my sites and I am glad that I don't have to pay for server software. It is a utility and I can deliver information without restrictions of a licensing structure like one Microsoft would employ. But for games... I dunno. People seek out games for entertainment value and it differs than server software where one may use it for various purposes and may even modify the code to serve their specific goal.
Re: [Trisquel-users] MacBook 1,1 to Libreboot in software way
I want to do a question: why some laptops can be flashed through software way and others laptops not?
Re: [Trisquel-users] MacBook 1,1 to Libreboot in software way
I'll test it and confirm, if I won't brick my 1,1.
Re: [Trisquel-users] MacBook 1,1 to Libreboot in software way
GeForce GTX Titan Black CPU is AMD Opteron 2393SE (Quad-Core) (3.1G) (C2)
Re: [Trisquel-users] MacBook 1,1 to Libreboot in software way
I think that it is a useless expensive brick. Useful only if you install Nvidia blobs.
Re: [Trisquel-users] MacBook 1,1 to Libreboot in software way
Nvidia it is very bad idea if you want some performance. So, no ultimate solution here.
Re: [Trisquel-users] MacBook 1,1 to Libreboot in software way
This mainboard has a GPU preinistalled (XGI Volari Z9s), so there would only be nvidia GPU´s if you want to upgrade.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Do DRM free games matter even if the game is non-free?
Btw, did you happen to see this today? http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2015/09/ubuntu-convergence-x-apps-running-mir-video-2
Re: [Trisquel-users] MacBook 1,1 to Libreboot in software way
Ultimate Libre boot laptop will be Lenovo T500 with This CPU http://ark.intel.com/products/36727/Intel-Core2-Extreme-Processor-QX9300-12M-Cache-2_53-GHz-1066-MHz-FSB 8G Ram and SSD And if we clock in some way this CPU in 3 Ghz by FSB Will have killer Laptop 4 core 12M cashe that will be on same level performase like modern laptop and LIBRE 100% Free :)
Re: [Trisquel-users] Jitsi/XMPP
Sorry I didn't know you wanted audio+video. Technically Pidgin does have support for those features, but I have never managed to get it working. For video chatting I use Tox right now, which is completely different than XMPP.
Re: [Trisquel-users] How to change fonts size of "leafs" in libreoffice?
In the phrase "In my tongue language" i mean "mother tongue" lol... Sorry..
Re: [Trisquel-users] Do DRM free games matter even if the game is non-free?
You make a good argument, but I'm not convinced we're taking the wrong action here. Everybody here is running some non-free software out of necessity. Should we stop helping people to move away just because they're not capable of jumping to Trisquel in one step? I can't accept that.
Re: [Trisquel-users] How to change fonts size of "leafs" in libreoffice?
You can get new themes from trisquel's repository or from gnome-look.org . noobslab.com also maintains a repository of themes. -- Petre Teodorescu (teodorescup) @ riseup.net, openmailbox.org, gmail.com Vă rog să nu-mi trimiteți documente în formate Microsoft Office sau Apple iWork. Re: [Trisquel-users] Do DRM free games matter even if the game is non-free?
> You're shipping non-free software if people want so. Should it not be an individual's freedom of choice to choose what the fuck they run on their machine? If people want to run non-free software, they will do so. If you start imposing YOUR will on other people and telling them what to run, say, think or do, you DON'T seem to understand the concept of freedom or free software. ThinkPenguin has been active in promoting libre software, helping to free software and has made contributions back to the community. They only provide the freedom of choice where the user is responsible for making an informed choice about what they want to run or use. Yes, we may not like the fact that people run non-free software or choose to do so when they are fully informed, but it is still important to give people a choice and try to fully inform them about what they are doing and what the consequences may be.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Do DRM free games matter even if the game is non-free?
> " i for one while pay 50 bucks for games that are DRM free" I read that and that's the part that was the problem.
Re: [Trisquel-users] MacBook 1,1 to Libreboot in software way
Curiosity: are you able to boot into OS X from Libreboot? Prior to installing Trisquel, I mean.
Re: [Trisquel-users] How to change fonts size of "leafs" in libreoffice?
Exactly Magic Banana. When i was translating the term "folha" in dictionary english leads to me the word "leaf" or as you said leads to "sheets" too. In my tongue language it is exactly the same... That is why i took a picture to show "Folha 1, Folha 2 e Folha 3" to try increasing this "sheets fonts". I know SuperTramp83 that we can go in the system settings of our DE to change menu fonts, but like i said, it is not the menu fonts that i want to change that is why i took this first picture to compare the size of "Sheets" or "leafs" of the last picture. Still dont find it on the options inside of libreoffice, so maybe i will try to learn more on libreffice site... Thanks for your reply guys. Much appreciated. Best regards.
Re: [Trisquel-users] MacBook 1,1 to Libreboot in software way
If you install hameleon on usb flash try to boot it maybe will boot not tested. Aslo other idea is to try to burn VMware Fusion iso and use it like efi loader or maybe use other free EFI implemetation like Clover EFI bootloader
Re: [Trisquel-users] OwnCloud error: System tray not available
I agree it sounds like something to be fixed, file a bug https://trisquel.info/en/node/add/project-issue
Re: [Trisquel-users] MacBook 1,1 to Libreboot in software way
1 . You will need OSX (tested on osx 10.6.8) working on macbook 1,1 2.Download moded EFI app (inside have libre boot) and run it.It will bless libre-boot ready for flashing just like normal mac efi firmware update. http://www.fileconvoy.com/dfl.php?id=g213b0c00487c5e2d999715871454a19feece0a351 3 After restart hold power button until beeps and apple efi tool will flash libreboot automaticaly. 4. Restart You have Libre boot on macbook 1,1 Then install Trisquel and delete OSX :) 5 Optional If you want to update to lasted libre boot you can build from GIT and flash using flashrom or use my attached files.
Re: [Trisquel-users] MacBook 1,1 to Libreboot in software way
And what GPU it is? here Intel or nothing.
Re: [Trisquel-users] MacBook 1,1 to Libreboot in software way
I agree, but Nvidia card runs very very slowly and with a big lag. Very bad and slow 3d support. And some card have problems changing and recognizing resolutions.
Re: [Trisquel-users] MacBook 1,1 to Libreboot in software way
But it would be faster than that XGI. Nvidia is also the only GPU type, that can be installed and runs with the Linux-libre kernel.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Jitsi/XMPP
No worries, thanks for letting me know. If Tox is easier to setup, I'll try it as well, or get back to Jitsi.
Re: [Trisquel-users] MacBook 1,1 to Libreboot in software way
Ultimate Libreboot Desktop will be ASUS KFSN4-DRE with (Warning Going inane was computer components Alert!) Two of these hex core 3.0GHZ cpus (if they will fit the motherboard): http://www.legitreviews.com/amd-phenom-ii-x6-1075t-6-core-processor-performance-review_1477 64GB ddr2 667mhz ECC RAM 4 x 8TB SSD 12 x 16TB HDD a case shaped like a Gnu! Best GPU that works with free software right now! (no idea what that is..)
[Trisquel-users] OwnCloud error: System tray not available
Hi folks I'm running 32Bit Trisquel 7, and I installed the ownCloud client from the 'Add/Remove Programs' tool. AFAICT it seems to work, but when I log in, a dialogue box pops up saying: "System tray not available ownCloud requires on a working system tray. If you are running XFCE, please follow these instructions. Otherwise, please install a system tray application such as 'trayer' and try again." I did some web searching and it looks like an upstream bug, but since the program gives the impression of being endorsed (available in the Trisquel repos, and through the user-friendly installation tool), it would be good to get this fixed.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Do DRM free games matter even if the game is non-free?
1.) Rich? I hardly would say that a price fixated by the developer ($1, $10) for source code makes it "rich people only" if the consumer is willing to out of of their way to support your game. You ask people to crowd fund a game, which has NO guarantee that the game is ever going to be finished and you support on blind faith. Having an incentive for something that may not be necessary (but still available) to people in an effort to support the developer is more concrete as you get actual source code and not a promise. Like I said, a developer could have the source for free but also offer it for a small fee if they choose to. It is up to the developer and then up to the consumer to buy that game. 2.) You should be able to share the code for the game like any other free software code. The artwork part of it would not be allowed to share as it is for that user own. What would work? Splitting it into parts instead of one big package/binary? Lets say when you buy and then download the game you pretty much get two parts of the game. The first part is the engine and the second part is the artwork/video/sounds. Those two are kept separated for licensing purposes, but will talk to each other. This may not be the most ideal situation as you probably want to keep them all together, but what better solution do you have? All I'm getting is the typical question of ethics because of "I can't have what the other guy has" attitude even if the other guy paid for the right to the artwork.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Miaow - The first Free/Open graphics processor.
The license sounds free. https://github.com/VerticalResearchGroup/miaow/commit/dafd39709dcc78e2a2c4f643dd7d4e4901219aa4 Also, it is software, Verrlog code is software.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Jitsi/XMPP
I don't mind the time and effort on my part that much, but I'm afraid my contacts do mind. The obvious solution is that I need to test everything completely before attempting to make others switch/create an account for them and configure their clients. Here I thought I got it working, but that was still too early. Thank you all for your help and patience with me today.
[Trisquel-users] Re : Do DRM free games matter even if the game is non-free?
You think the development studio would have reached the position to raise 80 million dollar if they went the libre way from the very start of their carreer? They would never have gained enough financial power to be visible Why not? It is not because they disrespect the players that studios become popular. It is because they make good games. And every studio starts small. i can also imagine that some of your business partners would give you the middle finger if you tell them that you intend to give away the source code With the same (wrong) argument, you could state that free software will never penetrate the server market. Wait... They have a significantly worse starting point when they want to make a new one - a lot of people used their engine to make equally great games, maybe in their freetime, selling it non-commercially. "Non-commercial" means you cannot sell it. As in Creative Commons BY-NC-SA. Notice the copyleft (SA) that I added to make my next point: by choosing copylefted licenses (e.g., GPL for software and Creative Commons BY-NC-SA for th rest), anyone reusing your work will make your own games better. So, contrary to what you write, the starting point for your next game gets better. Besides, if other people want to reuse your work, there is a good chance a support business would work, hence a new source of income.
[Trisquel-users] Re : How to change fonts size of "leafs" in libreoffice?
I believe Aprendiz_de_linux means "sheets" instead of "leaves". In many Latin languages, those two words are the same. Sp basically, he would like the tabs "Sheet 1", "Sheet 2", ... (that can be renames to anything) to have a larger font.
