But stackoverflow rated this abusage and removed the resulting reputation points in the night after. so gathering reputationpoints has to be done in a normal way (and no forcing): ask questions, answer questions, accept answers and every now and then do an upvote if you find a very interesting question or answer. in short: just use stackoverflow as intended and don't try to cheat. a short hint to the following 'private beta' phase: as far as I know in this phase only commiters are allowed to participate. in the following 'public beta' everyone is allowed to contribute to typo3.stackexchange.com. bernd ___ TYPO3-english mailing list TYPO3-english@lists.typo3.org http://lists.typo3.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/typo3-english

[TYPO3-english] realurl instead of cooluri does not work
I have to upgrade an old 4.5 to 7.6 and so cooluri is not ready for 7.6 I should use realurl. but all the old urls should stay the same! but there is a strange configuration where cooluri skipped the last path-segment of the news-detail page. And it should at best be just one database request for all the image information. The CE is basically a copy of the standard CE "Text & Images" (textpic). In another extension I wrote, I could easily access all information on an image in the template by the property name of the image(s) (the database field that stores how many images are linked to the record, just as the "image" field in tt_content) in the way image.originalResource.[publicUrl/title/...] lets have a picture of the data: +-+ | data (tt_content) | | ++ ++ ++ | | |img1| |img2| |img3| | | ++ ++ ++ | +-+ in the same way you should template the data tt_content.text_bgpic = FLUIDTEMPLATE tt_content.text_bgpic { file = EXT:my_extension/Resources/Private/Templates/Content/TextBgPic.html variables { imagePath = FILES imagePath { references { table = tt_content fieldName = image } renderObj = FLUIDTEMPLATE renderObj { file = EXT:my_extension/Resources/Private/Templates/Image.html } } } } and in EXT:my_extension/Resources/Private/Templates/Image.html you have access to all data of one image: (uid (sys_file), publicUrl, width, height, description, title, ... explore by using: {_all} bernd ___ TYPO3-english mailing list TYPO3-english@lists.typo3.org http://lists.typo3.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/typo3-english

My TypoScript for the content element is tt_content.text_bgpic = FLUIDTEMPLATE tt_content.text_bgpic { file = EXT:my_extension/Resources/Private/Templates/Content/TextBgPic.html variables { imagePath = FILES imagePath { references { table = tt_content fieldName = image } renderObj = IMG_RESOURCE renderObj { file.import.data = file:current:publicUrl file.treatIdAsReference = 1 } } } } In the Fluid template I can easily access the image path by {imagePath} set in the above TypoScript while every other data from the tt_content record is accessed by {data.[fieldname]} (e.g. {data.bodytext}) I tried several ways in the Fluid Template (like data.image.originalResource.title, with and without "data" and/or "originalResource"). And I found absolutely no way to set respective variables in the TypoScript (like imageTitle or imagePath.title or whatever) you already have the imagePath. in the same way you could access the other data. but not so easy in the fluid but in typoscript. you might change the renderObj. if you want to do the rendering of one image with fluid you might chnage the renderObj to FLUID_TEMPLATE and then you can access all data of one image in that template. bernd ___ TYPO3-english mailing list TYPO3-english@lists.typo3.org http://lists.typo3.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/typo3-english

TV has some drawbacks which some successors also have. the best way for you is fluid and the core extension Fluid-Styled-Content for own/new content elements. it is a templating engine similar to smarty. meanwhile most extensions use fluid for templating. theming a website is not so easy than in wordpress, but there is a small community which wants to change it and already provides some themes. there are some shop-solutions, but I have no clue about spanish payment gateways. but TYPO3 is open and has the possibility to enhance it everywhere (if you are/have a good PHP programmer) [1] Mathias is product owner of TYPO3. you may reach him via slack. get your invitation to slack here: https://forger.typo3.org/slack bernd ___ TYPO3-english mailing list TYPO3-english@lists.typo3.org http://lists.typo3.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/typo3-english

Have had a look and it isn't missing. Why would an exact copy of a page suddenly loose all layout formatting? Do I need to apply the CSS for the plugins to the page somehow? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! this all depends on the configuration of your site. the configuration can be specific in multiple ways: css/js included just for single page or a subtree, included just for a special page-id, included just for pages with a special value (e.g. layout), or for special domains, or special browser-ids or access-IP in the same way the rendering of CEs can be specific configured. and so all can be equal between two pages: if the page-uid is coded in the HTML as a HTML-ID and the css is based on this specific id your copy never can look the same without changed CSS. so first you need to identify the difference and then you can adapt the look. bernd ___ TYPO3-english mailing list TYPO3-english@lists.typo3.org http://lists.typo3.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/typo3-english

My understanding is that RTE transformations are necessary during the render time. RTE inserts a tag into the content record, but it's not the final form of the img tag as it needs to be transformed with a final FAL target file, compression etc. From Stanislas message it seems that I am right and that there is a way to insert a custom rendering function in there. My typo3 installation dates back to 3.8 version and inserting the image through the RTE was not unwise back then... there is a parsefunc which modifies the content of a field (for tt_content it is 'bodytext'). but that function does not interfere with any images (AFAIK). its just: wrapping 'lines' with class="bodytext">| and solve those TYPO3 special link tags target ...>|. you may hook any userfunc or additional computation to the rendering at all, but there is nothing you can do with just a little configuration. and especially there are no hints to the original image, which you need to have images in bigger sizes than the inserted. As I wrote I am looking for a way to add AMP version for an existing, large website, and to be honest I'm surprised that the amp-image issue hasn't surfaced yet. I think as the concept of responsive websites and the usage of images in multiple sizes needs a complete different approach not much converting is done but a new relaunch which uses the new features. As I llok at websites which have been doen more than five years ago: images were optimized for the usual usage and that was a maximum of 800x600 pixels. so there would be no possibility to enlarge images to fit a something like retina displays. either you need to replace a lot of images, or you stay with the small images for older pages/data and only the new data gets images with multiple solutions. both times the editors have to change their workflow / use other CEs bernd ___ TYPO3-english mailing list TYPO3-english@lists.typo3.org http://lists.typo3.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/typo3-english

But I guess it'll work, I just can't see when xD So thank you all for your help, if anyone finds a solution I'd be glad to see it, but I don't believe this will happen^^ Like I said, if I get the script done I'll post it here as an alternative. as you need to stay with 6.1: even if the authors of those old extension are willing to update their extension I would expect they will update and test their extension against current versions of TYPO3 and there 6.1 does not belong to. so you can't be sure that your feature will work with updated extensions. and otherwise: if you build your own extension (don't include some 'naked' php into your TYPO3. You will miss all comfort (including security!) from TYPO3. and so you may not build an extbase extension use at least an pi_base/std-extension. it is simple and very well documented (just translate all class names for function calls to namespaced version). bernd ___ TYPO3-english mailing list TYPO3-english@lists.typo3.org http://lists.typo3.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/typo3-english

In the "old times", using css_styled_content, it was possible to have individual maximum image width by setting tt_content.image.20.maxW to an appropriate value, depending on backend-layout and colPos. With fluid_styled_content, tt_content.image.20.maxW is no longer available. How could I now achieve an image maximum width depending on backend-layout and colPos? you might have a look into the templates and insert a switch in the imagerendering depending on the colPos (use templateRootPath*s* and you can replace only single templates without copying all templates) bernd ___ TYPO3-english mailing list TYPO3-english@lists.typo3.org http://lists.typo3.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/typo3-english

Does it make sense to make websites using "Fluid Content Engine", "Fluid Pages Engine", "Flux: Fluid FlexForms" and "VHS: Fluid ViewHelpers"? Or better as always, using fluid and typoscript. Would it not be in the future as the situation with templavoila? Whether these extensions are actively maintained in the following years? What is your opinion? I don't know whether it will be maintained in the future, but that is a question for each extension you use. at the moment there are a lot of developers involved. my personal experience of the last years: the extensions develop mighty fast and it is not easy to stay up-to-date. I build some CEs which involved and got changes in the datastructure. And so it worked with older versions of fluidcontent, after one update the CEs were not rendered correct any more: since that version the flexform data needs to have the exact datastructure then the definition, which was not true due to the changes of the definition over time. that was the end I could update the flux-extension. I needed to write an updatewizard analyzing the data and definitions and correct them. As I got no help it was a hard way to learn that it was easy to do (you just need to know that you can read the xml into an array, modify the array and TYPO3 itself will automatically convert the array in XML) on the other hand I noticed a big loss of qualitity in the documentations: a lot of attributes were just mentioned as 'attributname="foo"'. no examples as in the first documentations. and then the viewhelpers get renamed every now and then: I need to update all my templates for further usage of the excelent(!) viewhelpers in ext:vhs. And so I only had to manage only one big project it was a lot of work. I don't know the workload for someone having a lot of projects. with the new FCE (Fluid-Content-Elements) I see no futher need for ext:fluidcontent. Have a look at ext:mask, and wait for an (F)CE-Builder like the kickstarter. I did not use ext:fluidpages, but think that BE-layouts would be mighty enough. grid-elements is also a big helper which will be included (partly) in the core in 8. leaving ext:vhs from where I will copy now and then a viewhelper which needs no further update as it gets not renamed. bernd ___ TYPO3-english mailing list TYPO3-english@lists.typo3.org http://lists.typo3.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/typo3-english

[TYPO3-english] preview for own FCEs?
I already asked in typo3.slack#cig-ext-frontend, but got no answer. I created some own FCE. my first approach was based on an old data structure and I stored images in the field `image`, now I want it more like 7 and changed the field for images to `assets`. All works well - aside the BE-preview (page-module) of the CEs has lost the preview image. What is needed to show the preview image again? But the projects domain is a german top level domain (please don't condemn me, it is not my fault)... Now the customer would like the german content to be default, and english content should be located below "domain.de/en". I'm currently thinking about the following approach: Shouldn't it be possible to just swap all sys_language_uid columns values in the affected tables? Like this: # Swap DE to a temporary "3" UPDATE tt_content SET sys_language_uid=3 WHERE sys_language_uid=1 # Swap EN to "1" UPDATE tt_content SET sys_language_uid=1 WHERE sys_language_uid=0 # Swap temporary cached DE to "0" UPDATE tt_content SET sys_language_uid=0 WHERE sys_language_uid=3 I think this need to be done for "tt_content" and some custom extensions tables. For "pages" itself this won't be possible due to "pages_overlay", but this replacement might be done manually... What do you think? Might this still result in a clean installation? Or are there any better approaches? that problems is old. and no solution has been found yet. it is not only about the field sys_language_uid in the (tt_content)records. but all translated records contain fields about translation-parents, these relations would go wired, as it is expected that the parent always has sys_language_uid = 0. if you write a script (you can't solve it with pure SQL) you may read in a pair of records (default-lang and translation and swap the content of all fields except the language-parent relation (be aware: there also is a field for diffs which gets broken) then write these records back. depending on your records and datastructure that might enough. but if you have files (images) in your records (text with image): with FAL the relation got exported to sys_file_references (which has no sys_language_uid) and you need to correct those relation depending on the uids of the original (tt_content) records. as far as all is about nice urls, you may persuade realurl to have the translation without language path segment and use a fixed pathsegment for the default language! The pages are in two languages; the default language is English and the second language is German. On the footer-left, there is a language list: English, Dansk, Deutsch. The problem is that although Dansk is disabled, when I click "Dansk", the page in German appears. The link for "Deutsch", on the other hand, is dead. (clausthal.tk/web) In the German forum, someone asked a solution to completely delete the language links (msg: 736188) but this is not what I am after (and the suggested solution there does not mean anything to an ordinary user like me). How can I delete Dansk altogether and make the "Deutsch" link functional? Thank you in advance. these links (should) depend on the content which is available. in general you have a default-language (which you can define by yourself) identified by id 0, then you add further languages which get incrementing ids. I just stumbled apon an error in the bootstrap package, where some values were missing in the initial data: the language iso-codes were not assigned to the language records. maybe your error is based upon that. otherwise: you can configure fallback routes for languages requested, not all languages need to fall back to default if no content is available. you even can configure that no fallback is possible at all: untranslated pages are not accessible. have a look in the BE and make sure you have content in the desired languages: have a page-translation and also translate the content. the behaviour you described for the language menu at first sight sounds like a misconfiguration where the languages are switched. Re: [TYPO3-english] TYPO3 under Cloudlinux: recommended settings

Is that (and the above mentionned ensemble of software) a recommendable environment for a TYPO3 Install at all? To tweak (= loosen) the Cloudlinux limits, there are several parameters that could be modified: http://docs.cloudlinux.com/index.html?limits.html Apart from the obvious CPU/SPEED parameter, could anyone suggest a recommended minimum setting for an average TYPO3 site to run smoothly? Thank you very much - any hints are appreciated the question might be: what values have you in your php.ini? as TYPO3 needs some more memory than a simple php-website restrictions there would be more slowing down your website. as usual values in php.ini can not exceed values for the underlying OS http://typo3.org/typo3-cms/overview/requirements/ bernd -- http://www.pi-phi.de/cheatsheet.html ___ TYPO3-english mailing list TYPO3-english@lists.typo3.org http://lists.typo3.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/typo3-english

Re: [TYPO3-english] Layouts for partials or any other way to avoid copy-paste in templates
Am 13.08.15 um 15:04 schrieb Viktor Livakivskyi: Hi, List. I'm working with a registration form template, which has a lot of fields. Each field has same layout, but contents may be different: textfield, set of checkboxes, dropdown with static_info_tables info, etc. The layout of each field is such: div class=form__field-container label class=form__field-label for=field-{fieldname} f:translate key={fieldname} / f:render partial=Required section=Main arguments={field: '{fieldname}'} / /label div class=form__field-data f:render partial=FieldError section=Main arguments={for: 'user.{fieldname}'} / ---A part, that is unique--- /div /div My goal is to avoid copy-paste of a structure above, but I can't find a clean solution for this. The most obvious idea is to move this code to a partial, but then I need somehow deal with unique contents of each field, which will result either in invention of too much variables and lot of if-else in Fluid template, or in creating a partial for each field, that has some differences, or even in combination of these both. This seems kinda dirty way for me. It would be nice to have a possibility to define a layout for a section or make it possible to render a template section from a partial. Something, like this: Partials/Field.html: div class=container labellabel/label div class=field f:render section=field-data / /div /div And then in template call it like this: Templates/RegistrationForm.html .. f:render partial=Field f:section name=field-data ---all the fancy and unique stuff here--- f:form.textfield ... / /f:section /f:render So, the question, how do you code your forms without field's layout copy-paste? 1. you can have sections in every fluid-template file, not only partials 2. you can have multiple sections in one fluid-template file 3. you can call each section within a partial individually 4. you have parameters in the section call consider sections as functions in a programming language: you have parameter to individualize the output of the function f:render [partial=partialname] [section=sectionname] [arguments=({_all}|{par1:var1,par2:var2,...}) / so your fieldname will be one parameter and each indiviualization will be another parameter, your fieldtype propably will match the section name. you might consider this configuration: in partialfolder: partial inputfields.html with some sections: f:section name=input.../f:section f:section name=text.../f:section f:section name=select.../f:section f:section name=checkbox.../f:section : in your (main) template you have something like: form action=... f:render partial=inputfields.html section=input arguments={fieldname:'surname',label:'Surname',required:1,errtxt:'enter your surname',data:user.surname} / f:render partial=inputfields.html section=input arguments={fieldname:'givenname',label:'Givenname',required:1,errtxt:'enter your givenname',data:user.gicenname} / f:render partial=inputfields.html section=input arguments={fieldname:'nickname',label:'Nickname',data:user.nickname} / f:render partial=inputfields.html section=input arguments={fieldname:'email',label:'Email',required:1,errtxt:'enter a valid email',data:user.email, validation:'email'} / f:render partial=inputfields.html section=input arguments={fieldname:'message',label:'your message',required:1,errtxt:'please enter your request',data:user.message} / button type=submitgo! /button /form one optimization might be: using a language file so the label, errortext,default-value,... for each field can be accessed by the fieldname bernd -- http://www.pi-phi.de/cheatsheet.html ___ TYPO3-english mailing list TYPO3-english@lists.typo3.org http://lists.typo3.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/typo3-english
Re: [TYPO3-english] Layouts for partials or any other way to avoid copy-paste in templates
Am 14.08.15 um 12:18 schrieb Viktor Livakivskyi: Hi, Bernd. Thank you for your answer. 3. you can call each section within a partial individually Yes, and no =) I can call only section of this or other partial from within a partial. But I can't call a section of a template from a partial. Or I just didn't find, how I can do this. yes f:render partial=inputfields.html section=input arguments={fieldname:'surname',label:'Surname',required:1,errtxt:'enter your surname',data:user.surname} / And that's what I'm, trying to avoid, because with every new individualization there will be more and more parameters or possible values of parameters, like isStaticInfoZone: 1, staticInfoCountrySelectorId: 'siCountry', preSelected: 'DE', etc... that is a question what you can put into one parameter. if you have a HTML-block before each input-tag you may render it inside the input-section or render it outside (individually) and drop the complete HTML into the input section. you also may provide individual parameters to each attribute or pass all the attributes (and values) in one string: section name=input input class={class} id={id} onChange={onChange} value={value} ... //section section name=input2 input {attributes} / /section f:render section=input arguments={class:'wide',id:{fieldname},onChange:'alert(\'wow\');',value:10} / f:render sectio=input2 arguments={attributes:'class=\wide\ id=\{fieldname}\ onChange=\alert(\'wow\');\ value=\10\'} / f:render sectio=input2 arguments={attributes:'class=\narrow\ id=\{fieldname2}\'} / Currently I'm doing it almost as you proposed: RegistrationForm.html f:render partial=Field section=Main arguments={field: 'city', type: 'Textfield'} / f:render partial=Field section=Main arguments={field: 'staticInfoCountry', type: 'SelectCountry', selected: '{user.staticInfoCountry}'} / Field.html f:section name=Main ---all the common stuff comes here--- f:render section={type} arguments={field: '{field}', values: '{values}', selected: '{selected}'} / /f:section f:section name=Textfield f:form.textfield property={field} class=form__field form__field_input id=field-{field} / /f:section f:section name=SelectCountry f:if condition={selected} f:then register:form.SelectStaticCountries property={field} id=sfrCountry value={selected} optionLabelField=cnShortEn class=form__field form__field_select / /f:then f:else register:form.SelectStaticCountries property={field} id=sfrCountry value=DE optionLabelField=cnShortEn class=form__field form__field_select / /f:else /f:if /f:section ... I might change it a little bit: call the section directly f:render partial=Field section=Textfield arguments={field:'city'} / and inside that section make a common call to globals: f:section name=Textfield f:render section=globalStuff arguments={_all} / f:form.textfield property={field} class=form__field form__field_input id=field-{field} / /f:section so the calls will get a little bit slimmer So, for each field I either create a special section in partial or add some parameter. But I still don't like this solution, because it forces me to hold specific form adjustments not inside the form template itself, but in partial (or other partials). In other words: if I want to reuse same partial for other forms with same field layout but their specific adjustments, I'll have to either invent more parameters to pass to Field partial or create more sections. And these specific parameters or sections will be used only once. for all output you have to define some HTML, and so you may use it only once it has to be defined. you just can consider where you want that unique definition: in your main-template or in a section inside a partial. the whole art about is to identify the common parts and the individual parts and decide what all those individual parts have in common. :) bernd -- http://www.pi-phi.de/cheatsheet.html ___ TYPO3-english mailing list TYPO3-english@lists.typo3.org http://lists.typo3.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/typo3-english
