[SOGo] eas outlook question
Hi, Sorry to keep asking questions. In the official documentation is written: "ActiveSync clients can fully synchronize contacts, emails, events and tasks with SOGo. Freebusy and GAL lookups are also supported, as well as "Smart reply" and "Smart forward" operations." Does this mean that Outlook 2016, SOGo V5, EAS mode, should I expect: - autocomplete from the SOGo addressbooks (during compose & scheduling) should work? - co-workers freebusy info lookup for scheduling should work? The reason we ask: While the above works fine in the /SOGo webaccess, it does not work in outlook (2016 & 2013) anymore. We think this used to work in the past. We recently upgraded the sogo server from debian 9 -> 10 (changed sogo repo as well) and have the idea this stopped working after that. In the same inverse docs (in the same chapter Microsoft Enterprise ActiveSync) they also say: "Outlook 2013/2016 freebusy lookups are supported using the Internet Free/Busy feature of Outlook 2013/2016. Please see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/291621 for configuration instructions." We were under the impression that when in ActiveSync-mode, you do NOT need the above Internet Free/Busy feature of Outlook 2013/2016, as freebusy will be done over ActiveSync? Re: [SOGo] mass-edit sogo_folder_info for database connection details
Hi Francis! Op 5-10-2020 om 17:59 schreef Francis Lachapelle (flachape...@inverse.ca): Exactly, you need to modify three columns of the sogo_folder_info table. If you want to change the password, you would do something like this: update sogo_folder_info set \ c_location = replace(c_location, 'YOUR_OLD_PASSWORD', 'YOUR_NEW_PASSWORD'), \ c_quick_location = replace(c_quick_location, 'YOUR_OLD_PASSWORD', 'YOUR_NEW_PASSWORD'), \ c_acl_location = replace(c_acl_location, 'YOUR_OLD_PASSWORD', 'YOUR_NEW_PASSWORD'); Thank you very much! Perhaps a small chapter on changing the database password could be added to the docs? As it is a bit more involved than you would normally expect, with credentials stored in multiple locations... Again thanks for the update sogo_folder_info command, will try on our test server! MJ -- users@sogo.nu https://inverse.ca/sogo/lists

[SOGo] create appointment
Hi, In SOGo V4.1.1, it is really not possible to create an appointment by clicking at the desired time in your calendar, and then in a popup, set the meeting details, save? It works this way in android, thunderbird, google calendar, etc, etc. Is something not working correctly in our config, or is this functionality simply not (yet) there? [SOGo] listRequiresDot on group sources
Hi, We have configed our ldap sources with listRequiresDot = NO; Great feature, thanks! However, it seems NOT to work with ldap-groups, we still need to search those. [SOGo] search-only address book?
Hi, It it possible to have an ldap addressbook that is NOT used for autocompletion? So one that must be searched specifically for addresses? We have some addressbooks that respond slow (bad connections to those remote sites) and putting them in /SOGo as a remote addressbooks makes composing an email / autocompletion rather slow. [SOGo] Migrate productive environment to a fresh SOGo V2 instance / was: Re: Front end login not working anymore since 2.3.5 or 2.3.6
Since I still haven't found the issue, I am currently thinking about to export all relevant data from the MySQL DB, setup a new vanilla instance of sogo and import all relevant data. To avoid having the same situation on a new installation again, I would like to migrate as little as needed from the current (productive!) instance. Is there any guide or documentation, which tables and content are really needed in such a case? IMHO it would make sense to stay at first on SOGo V2 and migrate to V3 later if and when everything is up again. [SOGo] nicer public calendar urls
Hi, I have created a small bash script, to easily create nicer public calendar urls, and and keep them updated if you run the script with crontab. It's nothing fancy AT ALL, but perhaps it helps someone. The script is below. It requires a config file in the following form: nice.ics http://webmail.company.com/SOGo/dav/public/calendars/Calendar/38C2-543FAA00-1D-27687B80.ics It will download the ics file, and save it as nice.ics in a defined location, so the address could become: http://webmail.company.com/calendars/nice.ics Again: its nothing special, but it helps us, and perhaps others too. Best wishes for 2016 to everybody here! MJ The script: #!/bin/bash TARGET_DIR=/var/www/calendars CALENDAR_LIST=/etc/sogo/public-calendars.conf mapfile -t CALENDAR < $CALENDAR_LIST tLen=${#CALENDAR[@]} for (( i=0; i<${tLen}; i++ )); do IFS=" " set ${CALENDAR[i]} PRETTY=$1 UGLY=$2 rm -f "$TARGET_DIR/$PRETTY" wget "-O" "$TARGET_DIR/$PRETTY" "$UGLY" done -- users@sogo.nu https://inverse.ca/sogo/lists

[SOGo] libldb version conflict on update
Hallo on my CentOS 6 box I got a version conflict on update: Error: Package: sssd-common-1.11.6-30.el6.x86_64 (@base) Requires: libldb(x86-64) = 1.1.13 Entfernen: libldb-1.1.13-3.el6.x86_64 (@base) libldb(x86-64) = 1.1.13-3.el6 Updated By: libldb-1.1.17-1.centos6.x86_64 (sogo-rhel6) libldb(x86-64) = 1.1.17-1.centos6 A few investigations later I found the samba-libs-4.1.11 package to be the main problem (which needs libldb for dependency). This one tries to update (via obsoletes) CentOS own samba4-libs package which is required by sssd. As I do not use openconnect and therefore do not need samba4 it would be greate if sogos samba-libs do not obsolete CentOS samba4-libs. regards Martin -- users@sogo.nu https://inverse.ca/sogo/lists

Also, if notes were to be stored as VJOURNAL calendar objects, the CalDAV code would need to be modified and thus, tons of testing would need to be done with all the clients out there. Then, Mozilla Lightning would need to be enhanced (to add notes capabilities) and the native Outlook compatibility layer would need to store notes differently (by reusing SOGo's objects, instead of its own). That being said, it's not impossible nor ruled out but it's just a lot of work. If many people are interested with this, it's the time to voice your opinion! There are accounts, there are filters, there is learning data for spam, settings, signings, identities, etc. And also downloading imap mail can take some hours when you have much mail. That's the reason that I am intereted if it is possible to uninstall TB7 (without removing it's configuration data and mail) and install TB3.1. To get SPNEGO working you have to set a couple of preferences in Firefox. See https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Integrated_Authentication for details. And, yes, without the mail part, it isn't really that useful unless you just need a calendar and address book. The problem is: most of the Time I need address book and calendar only (thunderbird), but every now and then I need the mail part as well. And I don't want to install every part twice just to be able to login with kerberos and without. Sometimes I wonder that the user outside are not tired typing different username/password combination all the time. I use this just for my family and they want to type user name and password only once. So I began to kerberize my environment but it is harder than I thought (not technical wise, but from support in different server/client software). Unfortunately, the mail portion doesn't yet support true SSO Kerberos (http://www.sogo.nu/bugs/view.php?id=1200), but only CAS and WebAuth. So kerberos is not a solution currently. Are there any plans to add kerberos based SSO for the mail part as well? I need to be able to either use kerberos (where it is available) or a username/password pair to login. Considering there has been no response to my bug report, I'd say not in the immediate future. If I remember correctly, the current CAS and WebAuth support was sponsored by a university. While those offer great browser-SSO support, neither is a complete desktop solution that you could integrate with say an Active Directory login. At some point that might be really useful when the OpenChange MAPI stuff is production ready. So may be sometimes kerberos is supported. Lets wait and see. [SOGo] Subscribing to web calendars
I seem not to be able to subscribe to a web calendar. I've tried to subscribe to a local ics export from the Teambox project management application, creating a calendar of project tasks and it failed. I then tried to subscribe to a 'regular' public icalendar, UK Holidays, in this case (webcal://ical.mac.com/ical/UK32Holidays.ics) with a failure. I get a modal Warning message, 'An error occured while importing calendar.'. However, SOGo's already sent two email stating that the calendar has been created, followed by one saying that it's been deleted. I have almost all debugging enabled and am watching the sogo log file, without noticing any egregious warnings/errors. The one thing that I can see is a HINT: type notice, specifying to use the escape string syntax...E'\\', but I understand from these lists that this is a PostgreSQL notice and that it's harmless. As I didn't find any posting about this problem in the archives, and as Sunbird happily subscribes to this calendar, what can I do to fix this problem. I'm running SOGo 1.3.4 on OpenBSD-current, with PostgreSQL 9.0.3. I realise this isn't the latest version of the software and if it's been fixed in more recent versions, I'll recompile as necessary. Once I can subscribe, will this make a two-way, i.e. read-write calendar, or merely a read-only one? Thanks in advance, Sacha -- users@sogo.nu https://inverse.ca/sogo/lists

I am not realy sure, if I had the problem with Thunderbirs 2 as well. IS anyone else seeing this issue? Since the recent updates (Thunderbird/Sogo plugin) I can no longer chose the login boxes. After login the previously selected mailfolder is not accessable. If I select an other one, the status line says that there is a complete reconnect and I can see a short popup of the login dialog. All other mailfolders are accessable afterwards besides the first one. This one takes about one or two minutes to get updated. What can be the reason for the two login boxes? Thunderbirds error console has nothing to tell. cyrus does not report any error. Martin -- users@sogo.nu https://inverse.ca/sogo/lists
[SOGo] Addressbook entry missing
Hallo I have done some tests with entries in my address book and photos of persons. In the web gui I can see these contacts with photo set to it (including the photo) but in thunderbird the whole contact is missing. I am relay sure that in one of the previous versions the contact was shown in thunderbird as well but without the photo. Btw: is there an option to set a photo? I currently export the contact, import it to kde's address book, set the photo, export the contact from kde's address book and import it to sogo. With thunderbird I can set a photo, but not the photo is stored into sogo but the local path to it (which is really useless in a server based environment).
