I've had a problem like that beofre, but my voiceover came through the earpiece instead of the speaker. I'm sorry but I have no answers for you, but accessibil...@apple.com might be able to help. Re: Changing mail sounds
May I creep in with a question here? I know how to change mail sounds and, in fact, have done this. However, at some point, I had set one of my own sounds for my iCloud mail and this doesn't change, even though the new selected sound is OK with my other two accounts. Re: Ibook refund
You can also get a free sample of a book on iBooks. I just didn't do it, because I assumed, after having purchased literally hundreds of iBooks, that there would not be an accessibility problem with this ordinary cookbook. Interestingly, I did try the sample on Kindle, and it reads perfectly. So, I guess I picked the wrong platform. question about iCalendar subscription
Hello listers, I am attending the NFB convention in Orlando, and I subscribed to the iCalendar format for the convention agenda via the NFB Connect app. I am using the native calendar app on my iPhone 5S, and I was wondering if there is a way to set reminders for specific events, such as the Freedom Scientific seminar and the guide dog users division meeting? Any help is greatly appreciated. I used the roter switched to headings to see events listed for each day, and I can double tap on the event title and read the details, but there doesn't seem to be an option for creating the reminders. Mary, perhaps asking a sighted person with a knowledge of fonts and their on-screen presentation to look at the book might give clues as to why words are being spelled out. Hi Anna, I had not tried your suggestions, but I just did with no joy. Speaks green spells out the letters just like voiceover did, and tapping on the image prior to starting with a two finger flick down to read all didn't do any good. I have written Apple accessibility, since I could not find any info on the refund process. Thanks for trying to help. This book is on Kindle, and they say text to speech is enabled. Re: Problem with an iBook
Thanks, Craig. It appears that the entire book that I have is showing this problem. I have not looked at every page, but I have looked at several throughout the book, and they all have the same thing. I guess I will have to try to find out if I can get a refund for this book from Apple. Too bad, as it is one that I have really been wanting to read. It's also on Kindle, so it is kind of tempting to try it there. On the other hand, I don't want to waste another $10. I am not having this problem at all. Other things remain broken but I can still post. Onfortunately, Mary, I have seen a couple of books that show the behavior you describe. I assume the affected pages contain images or maps. I have simply navigated beyond those pages–not a happy solution, I know. Hi I have done so but the result remains the same. I downgraded to fb v31.0 and in this way I can use the app again. I send a bug report yesterday.
