Ok, you guys might think this is dumb, but I was thinking it would be cool
if we all had a better idea who we were talking to. What
do you guys do for a living? How many of you are producers/DJs? Is music
a hobby or your job?

Kent,
I appreciate you taking the time to explain this in laymen's terms. I've
heard people try to explain it before, but now I get the point. I hope to
eventually produce and release some worthwhile songs/tracks, and on vinyl no
less. So I appreciate the lesson.

Wow, that was one of the first techno records I bought. Didn't even cue it
up, as it was before I started to dj, and before the local record store had
listening stations.

I'm pretty sure that the Khan who produced No Comprendo is from Germany. At
least that is what he said when he played (at the empty bottle in chicago)
with julee cruise about a month ago. bizarre live show--the only person
that comes to mind in comparison is cex, who also seeks audiece
I think that Final Scratch opens doors for people. Take for example a
dj/producer who doesn't want to have to spend $50 for each dubplate, doesn't
have the cash for that
nifty looking new vestax vinyl cutter, and doesn't have the connections to
get their work published.
What if their
For my funeral, I think that I would like a few things played

This whole incident s such a tragedy as you all know, and my prayers go out
to all the people effected.
It was reported that the flights were American and United commercial
planes. It seems that whoever staged this had not only the worst of
ill-intentions, with all sorts of political
Hello,
I just read this and wondered what exactly you meant by upside down and
backwards. Was Christian standing at the decks back to the audience,
playing a track which grooved from the inside out?
I was just trying to get an image of what you meant.

I was one of the fortunate few who was able to jump the railing before the
security dude blocked it off. the first ten minutes was a struggle to get
close enough to jump to the floor. well worth it. tight set. stuck around

a couple a things,
1st, i noticed that united has e-fares for travel between sat and tues from
chicago to detroit for $60--might be relevant to chi-town 313 listmembers.

problem for folks under 25: they charge an extra $10-20+ a day at most of
the large chains (budget, hertz, thrifty, etc.), which kicks costs up to
about 175 for 4 days. but still i think its worth it for the freedom to go
where you want to whenever.

I am curious if he produces music. Also, what is his tie with tortured
records--i was led to believe he is involved somehow when i bought a umek

material on it.

Arne: I feel that a nice mix of melodic and harder driving tracks is
interesting and preferable on the dansefloor. At home, when I put on an
album, usually i'll go for a more melodic one (ex.-heiko laux:sensefiction,

Hi all,
I just joined this list myself, and thus far I have read mostly embittered
responses full of cynicism and flames. I hope that there is something more
interesting to talk about than the crap thats posted to a lot of rave
mailing lists out there. Oh well, I'll bear with it for a while,
