But even if I had the money, I just find travelling to the US too
stressful these days. I don't see me going until there's a change of
government policy. The fact that I work in media makes it v awkward

of DEMF that I would suggest to make the festival
_part_ of your trip to this region of the US. There's
also MUTEK happening in Montreal (which is GORGEOUS
that time of year and not too far away) and also there
is Chicago about a three hour
I'll be there. Objectively, neither the festival nor the afterparties are
all that great, but it's sort of like the county fair or the playoffs -- you
go anyway even if you've seen it all before (and usually you get
something you haven't seen anyway).

Been to a bunch of popo shutdowns. Two of 'em Organic parties,
in fact.
Last year, the life changing set was Kenny Larkin at Bleu of
all places, who played the very final set of the very last after
party Tuesday morning and it was the shiznit. Haven't felt
that good about a set in years.

These parties are at least 50% responsible for attracting the hoards of
