I suspect the issue is that rg has two ways of handling Control
Change messages in a standard MIDI file. CCs at time zero are shown in
the MIDI Instrument Parameters Panel. CCs after time zero are simply
events in the segments. Those can be viewed using the controller rulers
in the matrix

mean it will always succeed. There might have been something subtle
that prevented it from detecting that the file names were identical.
E.g. one accessed via a link and the other not? Still, it should always

I just pushed a change to Rosegarden's "Punch-In" record behavior.
This is to support MMC record strobe. Punch-In will now start recording
if the transport is stopped. By default, Punch-In is the space bar.

The channel auto/fixed field is now hidden by default and can be
shown via the preferences (Auto Channels (Experimental)). Please test
latest git.

The idea was to allow rosegarden to allocate channels as needed on a
synth to make it appear as if there were more than 16.
In practice, it was a rather complicated change to the code that
wasn't fully tested before it was merged.
