Hotmail tends to eat PDFs and not let you or the receiver know there was a
problem. There is no way I would even attempt sending to a hotmail account. I
think we've tested my gmail address and been able to send it along.

We had the same problem here on our campus and our IT person worked with
Joe Bartlett and Chris Evangelista at infotrieve to solve our problem.
They should have documentation to correct the problem for you. I hope
they can help you out.

Your problem sounds very familiar. Currently we have the same issue:
while email sent to campus addresses via Ariel sends without problems,
all emails sent to off campus domains fail to send successfully. Below

Hi Jackie,
That is perplexing. Are you trying to put more than one email address in
the patron address book? Is your Ariel set up so the patron delivery
happens automatically? I'm not sure but I think the patron address book
only has room for one email per person. And if you use automatic deli
Fellow Arielers,
We currently have our Ariel set up to convert incoming TIFF files into PDF
files that we are then able to send to our patrons (Patron Delivery) as an
attachment to their campus email address (@missouriwestern.edu). What we are

I don't know how to fix it but I know that if I receive an article in

ariel for a long time. Different issue I guess but i don't like to get
grayscale for that reason.

It sounds as if either your scanning software or Ariel itself was corrupted by
the virus event.
My best recommendation after any virus infection (as opposed to notice that one
was caught in an email) is to assume that your PC is hosed and do a clean

Greetings,
Our Ariel workstation was infected with a virus which has been resolved. Except for this problem -
since then we have been unable to send color or grayscale documents. We have no problem with
sending black/white scans.
We're not down here at Texas A&M/Galveston; but we had been down for
several days a few weeks back. Is this a trend? I see at least one
other library is down as reported so far.
