We have the following environment and would like to know if there is anyone
else out there have problems with the AR System server crashing intermitted
on this environment.
Window 2003 Server, Enterprise Edition SP1
SQL 2005 SP 1
IBM X_Series_460
Intel R Xeon MP CPU
3.00 GHz,
Officially, SQL 2005 and ARS6x is not supported by BMC...
However, yes, we are running ARS 6.3 Patch 18 with SQL 2005 with the
particular ARSystem database(s) running in SQL 2000 compatibility mode.
Yes I know you asked about 6.0.1, but 6.3 is close enough...
Yes I also know that P18 is not DST

2003 AR server disappeared.
BMC had trouble replicating the issue but it appears that the dev server
that we patched had Flashboards 5.6 and 6.3 installed so we are not sure

I've seen this before at my last job. You need to change the service
login to the account that has access to the email box used by the email
application. In other words, if the email box on the exchange server is
allocated to remtest1, the service login name should be remtest1 as

We logged an issue a few months ago. We noted that we had a work around
and Support resolved the ticket. Since this never addressed if it was a
bug or working as designed we had it reopened.
It seems that some times you just need to keep pressing.

I just tested again. I cleared the Timezone on my login preference
record. I connected to our Windows 2000 (SP4) server and tried the
Mid-Tier. NO 'caught exception'. I just tested a Windows 2003 server
(SP1) also. NO 'caught exception' error. I then tried from my Windows
XP machine
I'm attempting to retrieve information concerning Bug SW00230954 which
was fixed in Patch 16 for the Email Engine. Like many others I can't
use the Knowledgebase on the Support website I either get a Caught
Exception error when I try the search or it loops back to the Support
Central web page.

my new patch version into the old directory to get it to start
properly...still haven't figured out where the reference to the old dir was

the User Tool (6.3 and 7.0) and from the .Net API (v7.x) lists the wrong

BMC.ARSystem.Server.ServerName value is not always accurate. Using
the AR_SERVER_INFO_SERVER_NAME constant does report the correct server
