Just as a follow up on this thread, I decided to go for the Digium 412P
quad port card.
Thanks to everyone who commented, positively and negatively - it helped
provide a balanced view in the end.

quirky behavior with regards to echo, clicks, "incompatible
motherboards" and IRQ issues.

Well this takes up to the core issues of many open source developments.
Basically, Digium makes money from selling hardware and support
services.
Competition on the hardware side should be fine as long as the

responsible to the open source community by re-investing a portion of
