First of all, sorry for my bad English.
I just want to share some of my impressions regarding SPDIF jive_alsa
value settings:
By moving back forward of those, I settled finaly to
SPDIF 45 jive_alsa 45 for best musical balance and coherence over the
whole frequency spectrum.

Are the dynobot's mods compatible with soundcheck's SB Toolbox 3.0?

Huge thanks Klaus!

What is the recommended version of server to use?
I use the latest official 7.6.1 (and I am using all Flac so no
disappearing files), but is there any other benefit using the latest
nightly 7.6.2 build?

Assuming you have tt 3.0 installed, try changing the priority of the
spdif process to 51.

Is it just me and my setup, or does this improve things further?

Is it me or does the bass seem reduced a little with 3.0?
I'm just wondering if this new definition and clarity we are are all
hearing is coming at a price of losing some bottom end and fullness.

First off, I want to thank Klaus for his efforts and for sharing them
with the world. I've been delighted with the 2.0 toolbox and feel it's
brought by system to a level that I have never heard before. A donation
is on the way.
I did all the 3.0 installs except screen off, and sat down to a

I've found that bass seems better, or at least fuller, with tt3
A hard rest was recommended by Soundcheck before installing 3.0. Which
should clear Dynobots mods.

I'll fork into a new thread from here, if that is OK with you.
Of course a lot of interesting stuff discussed over here will get
lost over time.
Anyhow. Sometimes it's good to start over.
One hint.
Instead of rolling back certain features you should try to find certain
other bottlenecks. I
Just done the fork.

Looking forward to your constructive feedback and discussions.

I left it at 40 intentionally (quite some time back though). I also
played with the value. You'll see that I got the interrupt
Another finetuning subject is the buffer setting.
The closer we get to the system limits the more difficult it gets to
tune the instrument.
Some people won't get below 4000us without ending up into XRUNS.
Others run at 3400us without problems.
Which is strange. Over here I know of several
First of all I want to thanx Souncheck for the passion and the

I used TT 2.0 with satisfaction for some time and I was waiting for
TT3.0 improvements.
The first impressions with TT3.0 in my system are not positive : the
sound is emptied , much more digital , too much highs. The sound
I've got the same impression as Mr Bellow, just maybe not as extreme as
a little radio. Everything is thinner in my opinion.
TT3.0 wireless disabled, all mods include daemon killer on. Buffer set
at 3600, just because I don't like riding the edge of stable.

That's what I like to see. Sometimes it's shocking. I know. ;)
More natural and and especially soft sounding is how many many systems

The key challenge is to have a smooth silky sound with all the details
Klaus, I use a HRT dac via usb, with TT2 installed (works great). Any
reason why this shouldn't work just as well with TT3, assuming I change
the buffer size etc ?
Thanks

There seems to be as many people pro TT3 as against. Is it the fact that
people have had 1 year to get used to TT2 and suddenly things have
changed that they were not expecting?
Maybe time will tell and listening time will tell.
Presumably those people who were running TT2 can just revert
Hi Soundcheck,
on the USB front I have been working on a udev setup that consistantly

yours so they are not fighting each other.

Many thanks for all of your efforts on TT3 Klaus. I've spent the evening

I've been running TT2 for about 6 months and really enjoyed the

I switched from 2.0 to 3.0, and then back to 2.0 *plus* dynaudio's mods

When I first initialized 3.0 last night, I received a quick error

Tonight i used tt to do a reset and then reinitialized tt. No error
