Fair point gary. On my dac I have Spdif coax, Optical, BNC and AES so will try 'em all, see if the balanced connections are any better. Its short cable lengths so dont have any expectations. As always, you need to hear these things for your self. :)

Caiman user here... tweaking the different SPDIF values changes the sound noticably, particularly in bass depth and soundstage. Settled on value of 48 for now, but doing some new diy mods to my Dac, so will have a play again once my ears burn in with the new discreet regulators :) -- Gazjam

these values from that? Sitting in front of the speakers changing the spdif value would be the idea way to go about it I think. Anyone done this kind of thing? Seems the idea way to check the best value for your system if you dont run Squeezeserver from a laptop? thanks. -- Gazjam
