Fixed. I thought I had saved my settings but didn't. I was encoding
FLAC to wav at the server and it didn't like this. Changed to FLAC -
FLAC, saved it this time, and all is music. Thx

The sound differences weren't difficult to distinguish, even after 30+
days. I know my system. I like the Modwright TP sound; it is better
for my system. As always, YMMV, mainly because your road may be way
different than mine.

treatments (large use of Realtrap bass
traps, first reflection RFZ's and diffusors) all enter into this
recipe. But the stock Transporter, in my system, was too analytical
and cold for my tastes, and would not have allowed me to make the
flavor changes required...IMHO.

personally like my Modwright TP sound, in my room, with my
system, better than the stock TP sound in same environ. I said YMMV
(your mileage may vary). I never would imply that my toys are better
than yours.

changing the sound to work better and synergize in my room, with my
equipment. The power supply, sophisticated tube rectifier and analog
stage, and subsequent 24/96 tube dac capabilities are music to my ears.

that involved his proprietary caps due to the original
design overdriving the tube section. He had voiced/developed it with
the digital volume down accidentally and didn't notice the issue. It's
all good now.

though my passive Bent TAP TVC preamp instead of the active Modwright
pre (cuz straight-into-amp loses my ability to also have a sub crossed
over into the signal path). Any comments?

ago. I may go
through the hassle of a/b'ing against my SB3 combo, but to do it with
any validity I need to swap cabling, level set within 1 db, etc. Not
tonight, that's for sure. And the Sb3 doesn't do 24/96 so it's less
tempting to a/b anyway.

setup. I'm sending it back to Audio Advisor because it ultimately has

signal pure and clean. Get a simple 2 channel preamp with a HT bypass
(so the Lex can still coexist). Either of your Slim Device decisions
will sound much much better.

if that's how you are going to use it. Also, I was
simply stating that many users of DACS with digital volume controls
(under $2k) tend to disable them in favor of going through a preamp.
Maybe SD will create a new mousetrapthat will be great.
