It's worth noting that in the post you link to, he says the
intereference was there whether or not the SB was attached to the
wallwart (it only mattered if the wart itself was plugged into the
wall). Therefore the interference was caused by RF waves, which

Does anybody have any experience regarding the WAF of a Faraday cage?

I've heard of people building chicken wire or metal screens into the
walls of their houses, although I think it was the result of a disease
different than audiophilia (hypochondria about the health
Doesn't a Faraday cage work the other way round too, so putting the SB
wallwart into a small cage quieten it ?
That has a higher WAF too.

Good point - that would work, at least so long as the wire coming out
doesn't mess things up. So now all of us with stock PSUs should wrap
them in copper

EMI tweaks really need to be tested - if you just take a stab in the
dark like that, it's quite possible

Or , you could put the Wife in a cage, should make listening more

I just noticed that the supply mentioned above is now available in a
kit specifically designed for the SB3 for $185. Assembly is
required.

PS- the $30. salvaged power supply is a much better unit than the
Power One.
The one you pointed out is 9A on the 5v output, is that why it's
better?

No, because I cut my DC lead off a router's wall wart in a fit of

I would recommend for comparison purposes).

No, this is a switching power supply, like the one supplied with the
SB. You're looking for a linear supply, like this one:

I would spend $30 or so just for the heck of it.
Anyone found one out there cheap yet?
Thanks!
If you can solder on some leads for the AC and the 5VDC connections,
here's a great
Re-reading that linked thread above, I noted in around page 6 that I'd
like to figure out how to do the Walt Jung/ALWSR power supply mods.
Seeing how the mods made it into the transporter that seems like the
way to go, if you're going to bother making something.
My question is why don't some

They're not plug and play, but well worth the effort of wiring,
enclosing, and fusing the open frame unit.
Yea - they seem to have a lot
