Yeah, I'm still using Blue Jeans Canare balanced interconnects and their optical digital interconnect from my Squeezebox3 to the Benchmark DAC1. The Krell KAV400 must obviously be run balanced. You could probably buy cables at 20 times the cost and have an improvement, but I'm not willing to try

Interesting. I don't know what actually helped: new power cables, new interconnect or moving from RCA to XLR. The brightness has almost gone. The sibilants are still quite noticeable, but the sound has improved a lot. -- alekz
