Yes, Eric, Antonio Silveira Bettencourt was Thomas's brother. Rosalina
Augusta of Piedade, Pico was their mother perhaps not Silveira at all. I
only knew her first name from my grandfather. Unfortunately I never asked
him more. My Grandmother Mary Brun came to the USA to marry one of the

These names are not familiar to me. My husband,s father was Clarence Enos

Eric & Deanna,
I have in my files (info from funeral notices in the Sacramento Bee) some

Deanna,
There is a marriage record cited without original document on a Ancestry

Deanna,
Do you know if the Antonio Silveira Bettencourt who settled in Turlock is
his brother? A shiplist shows his mother as Rosalina Augusta of Piedade,
Pico. His wife was Isabel Silveira Avila
of Piedade.

There is a Enos family Tree at Ancestry.com that shows a Rosalina Augusta of

This Antonio also came to California. However when referencing him on a

Thanks Cheri, for all the information. I have to go cook dinner now so
will get back to this. What a journey! I don't know if I am ready for
this. My mother has told me many stories about the family and I want to get
those down, before I forget them. This country to me is the United States.

Jose Silveira 1761-1811 and Maria Conceicao 1765 - 1857 . You have

Hi Deanna,
Yes, start with the generations closest to you and work back. Get your
grandfather's vitals first. He may be listed as Tomas Bettencourt. When do
you think he was born? Early 1800s, around the 1820s or 1830s? Where did
he die and when?
I don't know which country you are referring
Thanks Cheri, Rosalina Silveira would be my Great Grandmother. The mother
of my Grandfather Thomas S. Bettencourt. I'm going to have to search more
for dates. I am guessing she lived around 1792 , but how do I get that
information. I am a complete novice here. I even need to search for the

Can you clarify a bit more?
Is Rosalina Silveira your grandmother? From when to when did she live?
What's your grandfather's name and from when to when did he live?
There are many Pico researchers on this list. You have a name and a place,
