That doesn't sound like a JAWS problem at all. It does sound like your
control key is stuck which has happened to me before. In fact, I have a key
which won't work right now, the caps lock. Since I am running JAWS in
laptop mode, I don't have that insert key which is quite an inconvenience.

I think I know part of the mystery of the back command. I think that sometimes
there are hidden tabs. Nest time it doesn't work, try control tab. Sometimes
it's slow to come up but this has been happening to me off and on lately, and
it's almost always another tab that doesn't
You can also hit f1 while in Firefox and it will have a link for ad-ons. For
those who might be interested, there is also an accessibility link there which
when clicked on shows a bunch of hot keys.
