By default it will do a quick scan at the scheduled time and
it will also
check for and download/install updates before the quick
scan. On my machine
with a 2.0GHZ dual core processor and 4GB of RAM and Windows
7 64 bit it
doesn't slow down
Yes it updates at least three times a day.

I keep hearing things about MSE and I have super-antispyware.
Is this just preference or is mse the way to go?

I did just get the file but since the instructions state to run it in safe mode
it wouldn't be accessible. Also according to the license agreement I do not
believe I can post it.

I tried thinking once but decided it was a bad idea.

Hello all,
Due to problems I had with AVG 8.5, I've now switched to Avast! Home. So far
I'm having no problems and performance under Vista has improved, i.e.,
programs no longer stop responding or act sluggish at startup. Any other
comments are welcome.

Hi Rogelio,
Try the steps below. They should help with making Avast easier to navigate.
Configuring Avast to not use the skins for the simple user interface:
1. Start Avast.
2. Wait for the memory test to be completed, then close the web page that
appears. You should now land on a dummy check
