As a side note, in case someone not wanting to set any of their browsers to
default. There is no need to anyway. Just go no and mark the 'do not ask me
again' button in the window when it asks if you want to make so and so your
default and then no default browser is specified.

Who told you that? Windows update has nothing to do with whatever browser
you are using. The only thing there is is that you need to use IE to browse
