Greetings,
Sorry if this is somewhat off-topic for the general discussion.
Just want to share my personal experience - may be it'll help someone as it

In the process of preparing for the LAB I'm everyday reading a lot of
content from the Web, CCO, different blogs, groups, etc...

Hi All,
I've started my move and so far moved successfully, one Unity 5 and CCM 5
but I've to move my IPCC Servers also (version 5) and IP's are changed now.
I've moved Unity and CCM and tested with New IP Changes works fine but I'm
not sure on IPCC Move, what needs to be done on IPCC Servers, CCM
Hi All,
Since V3 requires CCM 7.0 and its linux based, how much knowledge of linux
should one need before hand? Also, will they be integrating with Domain
controller and Exchange which is MS based?
Thanks,

Hi Ashfaaq,
You dont have to know linux at all. you can call this as CUCM appliance.
Its nothing to do with Linux. very simple.

IPCC must be co-located on the same LAN (simplicity. Read the IPCC SRND for
full details, I think 45MB would be enough) as the CTI server it connectes to.
SO move the IPCC and reconfig if necessary to connect it to the CCM that moved.

Hi Michael,
Can you please provide me any link what re-configuration I need to do in
IPCC to make the setup successful.
Thanks

ZERO. root is disabled and when you SSH to the appliance you are only
presented with a Cisco specific menu tree.
I also work with Broadsoft's Broadworks SIP server and it's a
nightmare compared to CCM. Very "do it yourself" - makes CCM look
like peanuts..

Okay, my question is not really out of the modules, just a question about a
real world scenario. I'm preparing to increase the size of our VoIP network
and am aware of the principle differences between the ISRs. Our remote sites
will have subscribers, so SRST is not really an issue, and the ISRs a
What is the difference between these 2 scenarios:

police 32000 8000 exceed-action policed-dscp-transmit
police 32000 8000 exceed-action set-dscp-transmit 8
Would both of these take the excess SCCP traffic (assuming you have your ACLs

Hello all, :-)
Does anyone sell all the electronic devices (routers, switches, interfaces
cards,..) of CCIE Voice lab version 3? If so, pls, let me know.
Many thanks in advance.

Earlier I began a thread regarding choosing the right ISR for an
implementation if all it's doing is terminating PRIs and not routing data
vlan traffic. The different ISRs have different interfaces, so I started to
wonder exactly how many voice streams could be processed throug a given
interface a
I spoke to the proctor in Brussels today and he said that they were using
the time to replace the R&S racks during that week. Not enough space for the
old and the new. He wasn¹t sure about the rest of the world but it¹s
possible that they could be doing it too.

Yes I was in Brussels today.
The lab is fair and doable if you¹ve done the studying.
My personal experience was that I ran out of time and don¹t expect to be
successful on this occasion. I could blame the lack of labs and training
materials but that would be a cop out! When I did my R&S I used th

Each ISR router is supposed to only be able to handle X number of PRIs (not

I had no idea there was a PRI limit. I was thinking, potentially, I may
need to terminate 8 PRIs on a 2811 but in truth I'm planning on having 3

between them.
I guess my question was also whether the 2811 can handle this
I try to simulate this and yes you are correct on the BR2 phone when the calls

You have a separate TEHO translation pattern for your globalization,

Yes I do have separate TEHO translation pattern. But the problem is when the
call goes out via HQ it matches the existing called party transformation on the
gateway and hence display 7 Digits on the BR2 phone as called number.

Agreed. And I'm not positive, but I don't believe you'll see the
set-dscp-transmit option on a 3750 unless it is a Metro E class switch.

The winner is Chris Parker who gave me the clarification:
The policed-dscp wil only remark packets that already had dscp 24 to dscp 8.
The second one will remark all traffic to 8 if it exceeds the policed rate.

I was watching gateway video in new voice VOD today, Mark Snow mentioned
that Ben Ng at networkers has publicly said that new voice lab will test
FULL pri which means we can now use "ccm-manger config server" commands
for mgcp gateway.
Does anyone still think we shouldn't use ccm-manager config
I've used this document in the past for sizing purposes:

I think the main reason to do it is to keep you from having to
constantly do a "no mgcp" and then "mgcp" any time you make a change
to the gateway in ccm.

The other got ya is the number of PVDM slots. The 2811 has 2 of them
on the mainboard. Depending on what codec you will use, faxing etc,
you may need more DSPs that you can put on the board. Even with G711,

Since the router is originating all the rtp packets, I think it boils
down to the pps the router can process switch. If each call is 50 pps
(20 ms sample) and the 2811 can do about 3000 pps process switched or
about 60 calls.
So maybe 3 PRIs?
On Sep 23, 2009, at 8:26 PM, Michael Ciarfello
Mike Deal is the man for coming up with that link. It ends up being 70 calls
which is just short of 3 PRI's. Your number is right on. I don't think 3 PRIs
will be a problem. Most of the time the router will (hopefuly) not be 100% PRI
utilized.
