I haven't really used a desktop for work since I bought my Sony Vaio
about 10 years ago. I do use the monitors from the desktop when I am
editing audio or video, but the desktop box rarely gets turned on
unless a guest in is the house and wants to use a computer.

When Windows 7 came out last year I bought a new Dell laptop (Precision
M6400) with Windows 7 and have been using that as my only computer ever
since. It replaced my 5-year-old PC at home and 4-year-old PC at work
my desktop is a GREAT dust collector, power drain, and thats about it.
