I found Kindle really poor for PDFs as well, even if you don't mind

I have a Kindle DX - I sue it mostly for school. If you think you are going
to be doing a fair amount of web browsing, the Kindle is not for you.
Besides being monochrome, the browser is very primitive, and a pain to use
since the screen is not a touch screen.

Yeah, i just don't see the point of dropping anything over $100 on a tablet
that isn't an iPad. Even if it is overkill for what you need right now,
