Yes. I use to run CF5 Studio on XP Home.
However I upgraded to XP Pro so I could use IIS
and CF5 Server as well.
Access is good for quick and dirty database design especially for testing.
Then "upsize it" to SQL Server (if you have it).
Enterprise Manager can then be used to make adjustments to the SQL database.
Haven't used Access XP yet but it's probably even better.

I haven't had the opportunity to work with Corba specifically, but I don't
think it's a Corba specific problem. To put it politely, cfobject has
issues. The most common problem I have is with nulls. CF has no concept of
nulls and can't handle them. Check cfcomet.com if you haven't already
though.

That's one of the big problems. If the databases get that large, especially with a
large number of concurrent users, you need to be diligent in making sure that you
perform manual "compact and repair" operations on the database.
There are free alternatives, don't use Access unless you must.
I solved the problem saving the file ,using an ODBC
Text driver and setting the file as a
datasource.
Everything is working right now.
But still remains my doubt on why I could not get the
query directly from the CFHTTP.

I believe that the maximum file size is 2 Gb. I've actually seen files
nearly that large being used in CF applications (1.8 Gb or so).
Interestingly enough, the file size by itself doesn't necessarily make that
much of a performance differ

We use WebEx and it's never let us down. The only catch is telephony
charges. There's just no way around them.

I would imagine that the hard limit depends on the file system that the DB sits on - 2
GB for FAT, etc...
Practically, it's a very bad idea to have an Access DB anywhere near this size. We
have a number of databases that are in the several hundred megabyte range - it's not

My 23MB Access2000 database is still holding up ok... it starts to choke
when more than 60 people at a time are browsing the site but is ok around
50..
.I know.. time to upgrade :-)

evaluate function? I can't seem to come up with the proper way.
