Harmonic balancer will have a relief notch
for balancing purposes, the flex plate/flywheel will also have a large wieght
and there is also a dowel pin to locate the fly wheel to the crank. The blocks
usually have three core plugs down the sides instead of two like the normal
s/b.

Just for clarification, only 4-bolt blocks
(70-73) will have three freeze (core) plugs. The others will have the regular
2 freeze plugs. You can also check the casting number of the block, but the
balancer is usually the quickest/easiest way to identify a 400.
