NOT SURE IF YOU CAN FIND THIS BUT I HAVE SEE AN EXPANDABLE FITTING ON A CARB
BEFORE, LOOKED LIKE THE ONES FOR A FREEZE PLUG, TIGHTEN THE FITTING AND THE
RUBBER EXPANDED FOR A TIGHT FIT. I HAVE NOT SEEN ANY AROUND BUT SOMEONE MAKES
IT.NOT MUCH BUT IT IS A THOUGHT.

original restored numbers matching car. The seller is offering my
money back, but these carbs are hard to find and I really want to
make this one work. I don't believe the teflon tape will work

It was being built as a blower motor, but we are recamming it and doing some

As engine components go, carbs are relatively inexpensive and easy to
replace. Start with the 750. If it's right, you can stay where you are
with a great running engine. If it's wrong, it'll still be strong off the
bottom, and you can drive it happily a few RPMs off peak until

determine the amount of air flow for a specified RPM.
One thing is for sure, if your car only needs a 750
and you get the 850, your just spending more money on
something that wont make your car go any faster.

Valid points Dale.
I would also like to point out that a vacuum advance is better suited (but
will still work well on the track) for street driven cars because it
broadens the width of the usable power band. Unlike a full mechanical
advance, which when set up properly on a race vehicle, works be

I would guess you will get different views on this but a vacuum operated
advance is generally thought to be more economical than a full mechanical
advance. For performance reasons a full mechanical is preferred. There is

I have a 9:1 454 going in my Chevelle until next winter. I
need to buy a carb for it. It’s a .030 over 454 motor, all forged
internals. Mild cam (220/230 @ .050). I was thinking of a Holley 750
mechanical secondary. Sound like a good idea???

Received the new Edelbrock carb this morning and installed it. Car started
instantly after only two pumps on the gas and ran like a million bucks! I
think the carb still needs to be adjusted since it is running just our of
the box for now. I can't tell you what a relief it was to make the righ
