Here's a recent work producing animations in synfig. The editing in
cinelerra was smooth sailing, no problems with synfig generated .mov:

don't know where to find it. I figure the same
thing is happening in Cinelerra, that windoze has done something strange
to the .avi that needs decoding.
How can I get this decoder or convert that .avi, so I get a video to
edit in Cinelerra? Thanks in advance!

I would like to know if I should switch to a newer Cinelerra version
beyond 2.1CV as I upgrade to 11.4. Which version should I use? Thanks in

still work or should I upgrade? Which version works in OSS 11.4?

Have you tried the scale effect with keyframes?
Hello
The zoom now is in discrete steps with the + and - buttons. I would like a
infinit zoomfunction controlled by the scrollwheel of the mouse. I also
would like an effect automatic zoom in the motion tracker. This in such a
way that my
...In the compositor window it looked fine. I Rendered it to a MOV
file and some of the pictures were way too small and are bordered by a
wide black area. I take it from this that just because the video looks
good in compositor does not mean it will look that way when rendered??
Maybe
If I was doing it, and this is because I'm such a nut, in the 2nd vid I
would combine brightness/contrast, denoise, hue saturation, and RGB.
Then when you slowly play w/chroma key, you reveal a very weird/ghostly
glow coming through.
If I recall, I did this in vid called Ocean NLP, the Haiku
If I was doing it, I would copy the same video to the track underneath,
chroma key out the hand in the first video, then add a glow to the 2nd
video using color tools. Then for a gradual glow, use Generate Keyframes
while Tweeking while playing with the chroma key.
i was going for kind of a
Do you want a particular subject to glow like they are radioactive or a
ghost?
Is there any way to create a glow effect in cinelerra, I finally figured out
motion tracking and need some glow to add to the master video now as i seen
people on youtube but they used some commercial app. Thanks
When I want to do special f/x with titles, I put the title on a clear
.png using a graphics app like gimp and work with that.

What about fading in and out from a transparent image? That always

I have an AMD Athlon 4600+X2 w/4GB RAM on an Asustek M2N4SLI MB.
I don't know if I'm pushing the envelope, but sometimes Cinelerra has a
little trouble with heavy lifting when I keep adding effects on top of
videos on top of more effects. Here's the latest one I did:
Actually, that's what happened in HealingMindN Meditation. The entire
editing process acted like it was pulling a heavy weight the more I kept
adding, but when I rendered the final result, everything was fine.
The difference with the music video is that I wanted to playback on a

Hey, I want share how easy it is to do edits with music videos. I don't
know many of you have done this already, but all I have to do is look at
the sound wave and edit to the beat of the music. Of course, it's kind
of like basket weaving where it gets tedious, but the finished product

So far, the rendered quality is fine for the web, but I would like to

I have the same trouble when editing HD mpegs, mainly what I record off the
airwaves. When there's even the smallest glitch in the video, the audio gets
out of sync when encoding and rendering. I have to encode down to NTSC, so I
can match the bitrate in cinelerra that I've encoded into the

really have nothing to complain about. I just thought I'd mention this because
the manual is not specific. It's possible that the Cinelerra that I'm using is
just plain screwy.
