Gigabit Ethernet Signal propagation. [7:6739]

2001-06-01 Thread Burnham, Chris
Does Gig Ethernet conform to the same minimum frame sizes as general Ethernet ie 64 bytes. If so how does it accomodate late collisions when running over distances of 2km or more.??? Or is this not relevant as it will be point to point full duplex and effectively collision free?

RE: CCIE where to start? [7:7259]

2001-06-06 Thread Burnham, Chris
I have done the CCDP and it was a waste of time.(do it if you need the accreditation for your job ) but it will have no relevance to the CCIE. I suggest you get a good Lab book and command summary and work your way through each lab implementing as many scenarios as possible debugging the outcome.

What version of code is the Pix running? If 5.3 or higher you can use an ACL appied inbound on the outside interface. This is much simpler than statics and conduits. This is a standard ACL format so you can configure for address ranges(if contigous) -Original Message- From: Patrick Donlon

Yes you can. The DHCP requests will have to be routed via the MSFC or an external router. As the DHCP requests are broadasts the router will not forward these by default. You will have to set up a helper address on each interface that a broadcast is received on specifying the destination unicast o

MRTG like SNMP works on index numbers. Switches are a bit funny as to how they allocate their index numbers. Routers are a bit easier ie. e0/0 would normally be index number 1. If you have the switch managed on an SNMP NMS you should be able to view all the index numbers & associated inter
