I am continuing with my work on the shift cable issue. To summarize, the
shift cable suddenly could not shift the gearbox properly. Looking at the
gearbox side, the cable conduit ends may have moved and caused the issue.
I've verified the cable at the engine end did not change

So I took the handrail inside the cabin off, exposed the holes hidden, I
assume those are for the handrail outside the cabin. There seems to be no
screws in those holes. Is the outside handrail attached to the cabin with
screws or something? Mine isn’t coming off yet.

Hi, my C 35 Mk2 handrail seems to have a leak to the inside. I found out
this last year when there was rain and I found water inside the cabin where
the handrail was.
This year I want to take care of it before the season starts. I took a
closer look at it from inside, there seems to be a wood

I checked the connection between the lever and the transmission,
which I believe with Universal it is Hurth? The cable seemed to be moving
the input shaft.
Anyone have had an experience like this?

I will continue to check the fuel lines. Now I remember that, while I was
trying to figure out what was going on, my wife mentioned to me that she
saw air bubble going from the filter side to the engine side...

Hi everyone,
Again, looking for advice from experienced sailors.
Today on my trip, my Diesel engine stopped frequently. The last time it
stopped by itself was because air in the fuel line. I did do some more than

Hi everyone,
I usually have to turn the key a few times for the starter to actually
rotate. I can hear the solenoid clicking even when the starter does not
turn.
Would this indicate it is just a wire or connector issue? Or a starter
issue? Or if further investigation needed, what should be
Hi everyone,
The hull of my boat has not been polished/waxed for a few seasons (I don't
believe the previous owner did anything in recent years) so the white hull

Hi everyone,
Just had an insurance surveyor come over to the boat today, it is
"generally" good, but the surveyor did find one thing that he suggested me
to verify with the marina manager (who has the same boat as mine, 1974 C
Mk2). Please refer to the picture attached.
Hi everyone,
Just wondering, how often do you have to change diesel filters? or how do
you tell it is time to change?
Thank you,

My speedometer was not behaving well last season. I am planning to fix it
myself. Googled the keyword, it came up a few documents suggesting blowing
the tube to clear clog. I looked at my gauge and where there sensor is, I
don't seem to find a tube there. Please see the pictures attached in the

Hi,
I am a new C 35 Mk2 owner, and I am a new owner of a sailboat in general.
The yard is telling me the "smile" on my boat is a bit excessive. Sailors
on the Sailnet suggested me to post my question on here to get more
accurate suggestions. So here I am.
