The way I cook bacon, I have a pan with a rack, and I use the convection
setting on my Farberware toaster oven and just cook it in 20 minutes. I
have even found a way to get turkey bacon to come out crisp, although it
does not taste as good as regular, it is lower in fat, and

I split up the pound of bacon before I freeze it .
Usually put four or so slices in a Ziploc bag and then put all the bags of
bacon in another on and freeze them and take them out as I want.
It works great.

How long were you microwaving your bacon? I do mine one minute per slice, and
put a paper towel under and on top of it. They absorb the fat. I have a bacon
pan, that has lines, and a place where more of the fat can drain too.

Another vote for the oven method.
I use wide aluminum foil in a baking sheet, and cook the bacon on a
non-stick cooling rack in the baking sheet.

It is not a good idea to referees something that has been defrosted. When I
have done this, I just put the rest of the bacon in a zip lock bag in the

A microwave bacon tray isn't mandatory, but it helps a lot and also means
not going through a lot of paper towels or napkins. It takes between 3.5-4
minutes in my microwave, and this is ordinary

I used to cook mine in the microwave but now I use a roasting pan with a
rack and cook in the oven. I set my temperature to 375 for thick sliced
bacon and cook it for about 25 minutes. It comes out crisp but not burnt.
