Is it cheap? Yeah. Is it against any TOS or EULA, no.

The sonic radar just uses information from your sound card(non usb) and you can
create a sound profile/EQ to do the same thing with sound.

How many times does he say "go ahead" in that video?

It is a f*g skill if someone is able to make precise distinctions
due to the sound from the game and can 'read' or 'predict' where an
enemy could be now (or not due to 'mishear' or 'misanalyze' the sound he
heard).
So if someone is using a tool brought to him with his (expensive)
soundcard,
I thought this was csgo_servers?
You might be better off mentioning this on reddit or directly asking
tournament officials about this.
But yes, this sounds like a cheat. ("I get it!")

This software is not a cheat. This software simply displays information
that the player already has in a different way. According to demos I've
seen, this software is not capable of distinguishing footsteps from ambient
sounds, actions, and music. That means a player would have to distinguish

According to you the following things are not cheats:
-Material hacks that recolor players so they can be spotted more easily
-Aim assist (because hey, that's where the player wanted to aim anyway)
-Changing footstep sounds

Where exactly did I say those were not cheats?

By saying that a software or modification that meets this criteria is
not a cheat:
-Anything that takes information that is available on the client-side in
some way (hey, that would include all hacks) and makes it (more)
available to the player.
Feel free to personally email me outside this
But this software does not make it more available, it just displays
information in a different way. I don't see how this discourse is
"derailing" because it is directly related to the topic.

This is a bit sketchy. Sure you could get a premium set of headphones

maybe similar accuracy, but having a visual overlay...questionable at

Sure, why not? Apparently people have been banned for it in other games.

I have, and I notice far, far more kids on TF2 than in CS:GO still,
probably because the former is free and the latter is $15 on regular
price. Again, price barrier: mom or dad is going to say "no Timmy,
you're not going to use our card to buy stuff!".

I haven't played much MVM, but I've seen similar arguments being made

Well that settles it. We must teach kids how to buy the things that matter

Reddit is not scary. There are some scary people ON there, but the mod team
