@ceejay: From my experience raid 5 (better raid 6) is vital when you
have a certain number of drives. during the last 4 years I had about 2
drive faliures a year on a total amount of about 15 drives running in
total. This seems to be true regarless what kind of drive generation or
manufacturer

I just did major update of my Fedora 4 Linux box including update of
Squeeze server. My Squeezebox2 works fine but when I stream to PC for
playback in winamp the tracks sound pretty broken up. It sounded like
the lame encoder is not getting enough cpu cycles. I did notice on the

slimserver's interface on the ReadyNAS is too slow.
Is this if it is the slimserver is running on the ReadyNAS, or if
SlimServer is accessing files stored there (and itself is running on

Not sure if it's kosher to put a listing like this in the forum, but I
have a Squeezebox v1 I'm not using anymore, and thought someone here
might have use for it. I'd like $125. I'm in Minneapolis, and if you

You should be able to use a Squeezebox to connect, assuming your
company's firewall doesn't block the necessary outgoing ports.
