Hi all,
I've just setup a new slimserver (6.2.1 on Fedora 4) and copied some
music files across from my old server (also 6.2.1 on Fedora 4).
On the new machine, I get some albums showing the same track twice and
missing other tracks. The same files behave perfectly on the old

would consume a little bit less 1.5Mbps bandwidth. I did not know that
when streaming through iTune, slimserver does MP3 real-time encoding

The large amount of sudden network activity you see is indicating to me
that slimserver is rejecting your connections. SoftSqueeze hits the
slimproto pretty hard, so you'll see hundreds of packets trying to make
the connection.

server are inside the firewall at home. I guess the linksys
firewall/router is doing something funny. Even though I can ssh to the
slimserver/linux box from outside the firewall - for some reason then I

I've noticed it never quite works with a wired and a wireless (both
SB2's), playing CBR 192kbps mp3's. :-(
Just upgraded from 6.1.1, to 6.2.1 today to see if it was any better,
and it's not -- they're not off by much, but
tho! Is there no fix? Would it sync properly if I had 2 hardware
players or is the whole thing messed up?

out of sync. The only downside is the very small gaps at the start of

Weird, it works fine for me, and that's exactly my setup... It can get
slightly out of sync sometimes but it's resynced each song.

Not at the moment. It's a known bug, although I can't find the number
at the moment. I'm sure Slim will get round to it fixing it, it's just
a matter of priorities (and from what I've read it may not be a simple
task).
