Removing the beta and returning to the previous version and deleting the
.pref file fixed the problem

Two things to try:
If you're running a 6.2.1 upgrade to a nightly 6.2.2. There is a memory
leak in 6.2.1
Second, on the web interface, go to Player Settings, Audio, and change
your LAME settings to see if that affects playback.

Alvin - it doesn't look like the TITLE was encoded with UTF-8. It looks to be
iso-8859-11. The Vorbis tagging format which FLAC uses, mandates that all
tags be UTF-

I am having a problem with Live365 and ShoutCast. This problem started
today. Prior to today I have had no problem connecting to either of
these services. All other internet based connections work fine.
Live365 gives me a log-in error. My username and password are correct.

The "volume bug" is discussed in a thread in the audiophile section. It
wasn't obvious to me that it was addressed in the 6.2.1 or 6.2.2
releases. I think it was a fix that was implemented fairly recently.

It is indeed odd that the SB1s (with their considerably smaller music
buffer) had no problems and the SB3s have problems.
The only difference between an SB3 and an SB2 is the internal antenna
on the SB3 (and some very early SB2s had a different wireless card).

If I understand your question correctly, the answer is no.
When it is connected to Squeezenetwork, a Squeezebox is not connected
to the Slim Server and therefore not connect

i'm having the same issue. i have reinstalled several times -- there
doesn't seem to be an uninstall option for the mac, so i delete any
slimserver/squeezebox files, then redownload and reinstall. each time
it seems to install fine, then i press 'start' and five seconds later

If you tried to upgrade to 6.5, I think you need to delete your
slimserver.pref file before rolling back to 6.2.1 or 6.2.2. as the
database build is so different.

I'm running Windows XP with an SB2. I made the huge mistake of trying
to install the latest nightly. when it tries to update the SB2's
firmware, the thing hangs. It says "Press and hold the brightness key"
but when I do that, nothing happens...

I have noticed that when I view current settings (from the initial network
connection menu when powering on the unit), my signal strength is ~70%.
When I connect to my slimserver and go to settings->player settings->signal

It sounds as if your first problem is that your SB is not connected to
your slimserver? If that's the case then you need to fix that first.
And re your Belkin "Pre-N" router ... you may need to disable the
"Pre-N" extensions, it seems that the SBs don't get on well with all
the different extensi

I have only lately picked up on this thread. I have the free version of
Last FM at the moment which I frequently use. Obviously from this thread I'm
guessing this can be streamed via my SB. I have gone to the proxy settings and

I emailed support thursday evening, and then again friday morning (GMT) with
more information, concerning a suspected faulty wireless card in a new SB3
purchase.
I haven't heard anything back yet - I thought support were pretty quick to
respond usually.
The company I bought it from have said I

I think this is probably covered by bug #2938.
For what its worth, I've had trouble with the server-side decoding
chopping a fraction of a second off the end of WMA VBR files (only
noticeable on dance mixes, live recordings, etc.) so your work around
may not be 100% perfect either.
