I use Slimserver on top of iTunes on Win XP.
I have a lot of genres in iTunes that show up OK in Slimserver, but I also
have a genre called 'Classical' which doesn't show up at all in Slimserver.
This is a pain, as I want to exclude Classical from the Random playlists.
Any ideas?

OK I've put 6.2.2 on and did a complete rescan of the library and the
questionable cd (Shrek soundtrack) still had the songs double loaded.
I switched to Do Not Use iTunes and rescanned and the repeat songs
disapperaed. My best guess is the iTunes library is either corrupt or
has the songs

In the scan you posted before, it looks like you had protocol and http
turned on.
That's a good place to start, assuming the skips happen again.

or a bug in the iTunes interface inside Slim ... or
any number of things.
I can't help you with that part. I don't have iTunes. But
I don't know why your tunes tagged Classical don't show up as such in
slimserver (I assume you mean that the music is visible, but that its
not associated with the Classical genre?). A good first step is to use
a tagger such as mp3tag to have a good look at the tags in the files to

Yet again I've managed to find the solution. The latest version of
ProntoEdit NG has a duration option per button press. By setting that
to .2 secs it stops it sending two keypresses instead of one when going
through the RF-IR converter. Much easier than editing the raw IR codes

Thinking about crossfading, one of the best xfading output plugin i ever
seen is the SqrSoft Advanced Crossfading Output for Winamp. You can
find it 'here' (http://www.sqrsoft.com.ar/)
It just doesnt' make a normal crossfade, it use a 20sec buffer,

Have you tried connecting via a wired connection? I had similar
problems where the SB3 was mis-interpreting the DHCP response and
getting a dodgy IP address. If wired works, try upgrading the firmware
on the SB3. I also had to open the ports on the firewall, but you seem
to have done that.
It sounds like you are not getting a proper connection to the wireless
network or a proper DHCP address.
Beware, it can fail the wireless security checks and still get to the

I think you're right, for many people the iPod represents music storage
on the move, so what is more natural than a mac mini for the home? Ok,
so the mac mini may cost more, but you get a damn fine PC for the money
as well.
I hope that Slim don't rest on their laurels and do move the SB further
