I had similar problems and seem to have managed to solve them by doing
2 things:
1. As suggested, log-on to your router and change the channel to see
if this gives better signal strength. Most routers are set to the same
channel by default (it can vary for different countries) and y

I have spent some time looking thru the threads relating to power

controls the server using VNC. I guess I will just have to tell the
server to shutdown from the laptop. Shame, as I don't always have the
laptop on when I am using the server.

I'm surprised your PC stay's on once the SB brings it out of standby.
In fact for me, WOL feature was more or less useless until the recent
PreventStandby Plugin was released. The Microsoft docs indicate that
the PC will resume standby after about 2 mins, so the plugin was
required to make an API

Am I reading it correctly that when it says it supports "Power" events
- it can do a Shutdown function if required.
I am not computer savvy in any way. Can you give me a rough guide to

The plugin can execute scripts based on certain Squeezebox "events".
i.e. You can configure a script to run when you power off the
Squeezebox. If that script powers down your PC, then you should be able
to indirectly get your PC to got into standby by switching "off" your
Squeezebox.

I have a Draytek 2600G and have just bought a SB3. My attempts to update
the router to 2.5.9 only caused it to lock up when the Linksys card in
my laptop tries to connect.
I'm now faced with finding a workable set of:
Router firmware,
SB3 Firmware,
Laptop firmware,

When running Slimserver (dowmloaded 4/18 nightly) I find that streaming
radio to my Squeezebox 3 makes my PC unusable for other tasks. I have

Just tried the instructions in my previous post myself with 6.5 on my
laptop. The script directory only gets scanned for scripts are
Slimserver startup, so you must have the plugin,scripts dir and .bat
file inplace before doing a restart.

change it gets more and more stable. SD are working on the wireless
compatability with the firmware right now. Once they are happy with
that, 6.2.2 will go public. You shouldn't have any problems with it i

cheaply. I think some may even go as high as 300 CDs, but something

I've taken the CDs and paper inserts out of their jewel cases, placed them in CaseLogic sleeves, and then stored them in plastic boxes. I get ~100 CDs per box. The boxes I use came from Big Lots for $3.00, but I also saw them at Walmart for $0.20 more. They are made by Sterilite and come in thre

Assuming you have at least 384kbps upload speed in your primary house
(where the slimserver is located), you should be fine, but you will
have to configure slimserver to limit the bitrate for the player in the
lake house down to 256 or 128kbps.

If you're happy with your server going into standby rather than shutting
down, then you shouldn't need any plugins to do what you want.
just download the latest 6.2.2.
Set your power management to put your computer into standby (after 10
or 15 minutes).
