I am buying a Squeezebox that I will be controlling with a pronto
remote. Is there any difference in the quality of the audio output
between SB Classic and SBR? If so why? I don't need the SBC as I will
be using Pronto.

I updated the firmware Saturday night and now its dead. Naturally, I
check the power first, then make sure the cable it pushed all the way
in the back of the SB3, but now the remote won't turn it on and my
Squeeze center says the player isn't found, so what do you do with a
dead SB- Throw it out,

Anyone else have these headphones? I like everything about them except

The headphone jack and its opamp are designed to drive headphones not
an active load. You should use the RCA Outs to drive active speakers.

fine when playing from the server using FOOBAR.

this product. Maybe I'll stop at Wal-Mart on my way home from work

Music is on two external HDs. From another folder on a Mini Mac two
aliases (shortcuts) describe paths from which the music will stream. by
clicking those aliases the one would go straight to the particular

It's a mms: only station and doesn't support http: so it will not play
on SN as SB doesn't support mms. To play the station on SC in
Settings/Advanced/FileTYpes set Windows Media "native" to "disabled".
If SC is running Windows then the station will play OK. If SC is on

Macs will read and write FAT32 drives.
Out of the box they will IIRC read NTFS formatted drives but not write
to them.
There are at least two third-party solutions that enable them to write
to NTFS drives also.
MacFuse and NTFS-3G together provide an open-source free solution.

problem has been plaguing me since I first set up by Duet last summer.
I listen to 91.9 WNRN out of Charlottesville, VA (great station, btw!)
a lot. I've tried listen to it in SC via RadioTime & directly via url.

finished streaming the track when the player reported that it was ready
to stream the next one. This is odd.
