hehe - yeah i voted for those bugs (especially 4418) WAY back when they
were first reported. ;-)
apparently, they are fixed now, which was one of the reasons i upgraded
to 7.3.3. (apart from other bugs, where playback will randomly stop)
thing is, those bugs were "only" major for me. this bug (if

Fair enough. I *think* that the SrvrPowerCtrl plugin will
suspend/hibernate/shutdown the server if all players are idle for the
user-configurable time period, so it would sleep

i just want to make sure before i spent around $500 (new mobo and SSD
drive was my idea) on something that does not make all that much of a
difference...
thanks again!

so i am here rethingking what is best for my home server needs, which
also hosts of course the SC.
i know many here use venerable old servers that get a second lease on
life as a SC engine, which is great. less polution and all.
but since i use my home server for many things, i have a pretty pow

Labarum,
You really shouldn't need to edit the ini file. When you play something
on Potify and the blue spot appears in the tray then you have to go to
Squeezecenter and use "Tune in URL". Enter here the address of spotify

Some suggestions - in no particular order...
If the TS-209 and installed software worked with your setup, it's
unlikely the problem is with that. This leaves either your dad's Classic
or network at fault.
You could check your dads SB Classic by taking it over to your house

Try to first write the address with localhost:8124. Then overwrite
localhost with 83.114.28.200
Which player?
Answer: Yes on all SB devices. If using an IR remote (SB3/Boom)
simply arrow RIGHT from the Now Playing screen.

OK, more testing done:
1. deactivated crossfade -> no effect

With a Squeezebox frame of mind, how about a Classic or Duet for the
home theatre and a Boom in the bar and pool zones? Sychronised or not;
no additional wiring . .
Of course this does imply a network and many, many hours of ripping :O/

Hope they add SD/USB support to the boom soon also, so that it would be

no sooner have i filed a bug report to the effect that i _thought_ there
was a vorbis/sync problem than a purely mp3 playlist also started
drifting apart. this is the first time today, yesterday the mp3 playlist
stayed rock solid synced for over two hours.
probably means i can stick my bug report
confirmed behavior by playing over night.
this problem is too consistent for my taste. hence:
