those people unfortunate enough to live where electricity is very
expensive.

Just be sure to check the specs of your 5.8 GHz phone before buying.
Some either transmit or receive on 2.4 GHz which makes them rather
pointless for avoiding 802.11b/g interference.
Yep. Last time I checked, I think the Panasonics 5.8s tromped all
over everything,

I'm not objecting to you, or anyone else, using Windows. I hope there
will be a version of SlimServer that works well and easily on
Windows. But cross-platform is important to me, and to others. I
don't want to be caught in a Windows dictatorship.

Eww! That's the direst of foul heresy. Wash your mouth out.

Is it possible to use slimserver on my mac to stream to my shoutcast

Well... a Rube Goldberg solution, with so many intermediate steps the

I have the squeeze2 and winXP and the version 6 of the software..I
thought I saw an option to have the screen saver be JUST the time, or
at least have the time HUGE in the screen.is that an option? I

You might want to check my rack based SB at www.moyo.me.uk/squeeze - I
found it quite straighforward to build the graphic SB into a rack/hi-fi

Looks very cool to me -- it's the sort of thing I wouldn't want the Slim

I had the 20-April 6.1 nightly installed, and when I tried to fire up an

This is odd, because I could swear this was working for a few days after
it was installed... but now, when addding an MP3 stream from an iTunes

Another thought I had was to use the digital output and then an d-to-a

If you use the Toslink (optical) digital output from the SB, that'd
definitely isolate it from the next

I totally disagree. Powered speakers are actually a great
innovation. Matching amps with speakers has always been a black

tailor the amp to the driver(s) and perform any EQ needed to get

What would make the squeezebox even more cool is to integrate a decent

That way, you would only need a network connection and speakers to have a
stereo system.

Just wondering. Let's assume, just for argument, that someone -- say,
me -- is an obsessive freak who tries to optimize whatever can be
