After reading my post I realized I should give more info. It is only the
"play key" that does not seem to operate correctly. Is there any setting
or reason why when turning on the unit and using the browse music folder
section and selecting a track or album and pressing "play" it should not
play?

on my D-Link 624 I had to change from "G Mode without Turbo" (worked
flawlessly with SB1) to "Disabled". Previous to that, SB3 couldnt
connect to the router, now it does.

Thanks, I should be ok based on this chart. I ran CAT5 to one of the SB2
this weekend, the other one I can't get a wire to very easily. Still

Please look at this diagram that shows Channel overlap. Channel 6 does
not overlap with channel 1, so there is no problems with your neighbor
using it. But check the others that do overlap.

I checked the setting on my router and UPNP was turned off. I turned it
back on and let SB2 play for a day. Worked fine for a long time and

The Belkin provides no useful stats or information about connection and

I thought Turbo-G modes needed every device on the wlan to be by the
same manufacturer and have the same 3rd party extensions to the
standard. I therefore wouldn't have expected it to work with the
Squeezebox. Is this not the case?

The most recent post here reminded me that I had recently tested AES
support using a Belkin Pre-N MIMO AP/router (F5D8230-4), but forgot to
post my results here.
This model does not yet support WPA2, but does support WPA and AES, but
it does not work with SB2. Only WPA/TKIP works.

I too am having problems successfully configuring my sb2 to speak more
secure forms of WPA, or WPA2 in any form. I've just updated the
firmware on my sb2.
It will work (is working) on the most basic configuration:
802.11g, WPA Personal, TKIP
I'd be happy if I could at least reach WPA + AES.
The Wipe Cache function fixed my problem on WinME and Slimserver 6.0.2.
I am able to play FLAC now. Hope that helps you in your
troubleshooting.

So far it was 6.1.1 for everyone, but now we have someone reporting it
also in 6.0.1. Please Mike tell us if the wipe cache solves the problem
for you.
It makes it easier to narrow down where to look for errors.
It's possible this error is already fixed in 6.2 which is going to be
released soon
I'm glad I found this thread. I'm also having this problem on WinME
with SlimServer 6.0.2 but I haven't done the Wipe Cache option so I
will try that tonight.

getting it to recognize newly added songs, but also just getting it to
recognize the entire library when I turn the computer off and then on

The odd thing is, both SB2s had the same configuration, but only one
was able to connect. My wireless uses WPA (as it is more secure than
WEP).

There are 2 ways to scan the music directory. One is the rescan button.
The other wipes the cache of existing music and then scans fully. I'm
not sure of the exact meaning of each scan, but the second one makes
fewer assumptions and so gets it right more often in odd situations.

I'm using the Fritz!Box 7050 with WPA2 -AES and it works perfect (SB2
own's still FW 23 not 24 jet).
The only thing sometimes, after couple of hours, SlimServer stops short
playing but 10 seconds later it runs again (connection zu Digitaly
Importet with Premium Support).

Ok, installed that, installed beta slimserver, did the firmware update
on my SB2, set WPA2 when connecting to network. Still won't connect to
Bellkin (Broadcom) wireless access point when configured to AES.

Thanks for the help. Now my only problem is the random, sometimes very
long time it takes for the SB2 to connect to slimserver when I turn the
computer back on after shutdown. Kind of makes it hard to demo, or
even use, the SB2 on short notice. Any way to force a connection?

My last message was not clear - the "no DHCP server" message was on the
Tivo, not the SB2. Sorry about that, Ceejay.
I had searched on "bridge" in the meantime, and found a thread that
indicated that the bridge function needed to be turned on on the SB2.

Just a note that I had this exact scenario working (tivo bridged via sb2
and using the usb200M) a while back so keep the faith. A couple of
questions:
1) can you connect with the tivo with a regular ethernet cable into
directly into your switch? (in other words, take the bridge/sb2 out of
the equ
If its complaining that it can't find a DHCP server then it sounds as if
the SB2 is trying to connect using the wired LAN, which I believe it
does by default if it detects a network cable plugged in (this being a
sensible choice).

Still no workie here. I've got a tested, known-good crossover cable
and a tested, known-good Ethernet - USB 2.0 adaptor (Linksys USB200M)
and I get to a "DHCP server not found" screen and no further. What I
don't know about networks could fill several volumes. Does anyone have
a suggestion
Great news. I'll try it tomorrow when I can get to CompUSA to get a
crossover cable. Tried today (before reading the rest of the posts in
the thread) with a regular ethernet cable. No worky, of course. Thanks
