of suspect the SuperDateTime plugin, so I disabled that yesterday to
see if it made a difference.

The next release is due out in mere days. If you have not tried the
latest nightly build, then please do so. If the bug still remains, you
had best file a report on it. Otherwise, it is very unlikely that the
next release will magically fix the problem for you.

and some case sensetivity type issue - it aint. Within the filesystem,
they are .mp3 and within iTunes they are the same.

There are no accented characters in the titles as far as I know.
I will check the MP3 versus mp3 issue. I can see how this could be a
problem given the Unix base of OSX and it's inherent case sensitivity.
If this is the case though, I will be facing some donkey work
I get that message when I am playing a playlist with an out of date path
to the music file. Perhaps there is something strange with the path of
the file you are trying to play, maybe special characters, accents etc.

One other problem to check is if the ones that don't play have any
"accented" characters (for example á, é or ä) anywhere in the path or
filename. If this is the case, it is an identified bug that hasn't
been patched yet relating to the handling of unicode.

On my Win/XP system (beta 1 server) I had what sounds like a similar
problem - the files concerned all had a filetype of "MP3".
"Renaming" the files to a filetype of "mp3" bypassed the problem and
they now play fine.

Well, my unit was a wired-only version, so wireless issues can be ruled
out in this case at least. And I do not suspect any general network
issues, although it's hard to be 100% certain, of course.

I'm beginning to have very similar problems... I've had a SB2,
Slimserver 6.0.2, and two compuers running Softsquezze for a mmonth and
a half, other than getting over the learning curve and a few "dumb"
mistakes on my part the system seemed to work very well for the first
month or so, slowly creep
I'm getting similar problems. It's very intermittent but I've had songs
silently freezing pause/play no effect but advance to next song works.
I've had choppy sound early on some songs. I've also had songs
repeating themselves, songs just stopping and moving to the next song

Only started since I upgraded from 5.4.1 to use a SB2 in conjunction

I work around it by pressing and holding the pwr button on the remote
after pwr cycling the SB1

I can recommend dnsmasq for this job. It will act as a caching name

why don't you use static ip? i find it is more stable generally and
is easier to troubleshoot. at a minimum, you always no its address.
you can also put it in dns and name it if you have a dns server.

802.11b (11mbps) can be OK for lossless music streamed at
full PCM data rates, but it depends on your environment.
