H…. Mine griped up a storm when I went to input my ID-880 file into my
IC-80.
I solved the problem by exporting each 100 channel cluster into Excel and then
importing it into the IC-80 file. Musta been something funny.

Let me echo that you should indeed purchase the programming cable for it and
download the software from Icom. I would be glad to share my icf file with you
if that would help you get started or you can find examples on them of the

I picked up a dvap earlier today. Setup was easy and it was up and running in
short order.
I can connect tx an rx to any reflector that I have tried, however I can only
connect rx only to the local repeaters (3 in my area).
Am I missing something.

You might also try putting the radio in a sealed bag of rice for 3 or 4 days.
The rice will absorb any residual moisture in the radio.
This has worked for people who have dunked their cell phones.

If you find that you must use a Diamond or Comet antenna, I would suggest that
you at least solder each connection. The mechanical connections will cause you
grief over time.
Also, take the time to seal the antenna joints (including the top cap) as they
will allow water to find a way in.

My understanding of our ID-RP2D with a Cisco router behind it is that is will
accept connections from multiple ID-1s. Thus a centerally located RP2D would
reduce the number of ID-1s needed.
