I wish to have Contest Mode "ON" allways to get split frequency stored.
In my case, I have to set it every time for new after starting the programm.
How to set it for fix (as I had it before) ?
Thanks,

There is a separate field for frequency in 8.02 where dx4win stores the tx
frequency. if there is a separate rx frequency goes to notes.

Even with $$ in the >Text to add to QSO note< in the screen I
don't seem to be able to have v8.02 of the program post both the RX/TX

I have released version 4.1 of ADIF to DX4WIN, you can read more here:

Mel, agree.
Greg, you may not call it a bug, because it is somewhat intentional, but
it is a improper way to implement a protection schema.
I am from the software industry and I would have endless problems with
customers if my application would lead them to loose data.

This is a known glitch that occured to me in all dx4win versions including
version 7. I am not using version 8. Once I lost a huge batch of qsos. This
tragic experience made me wiser, but eventually I have got to the DEMO
state again.
It surpises me that this has not yet been addressed. It
Yes. I admit it. Can someone tell me where to change the error of my ways?
Please and Thank you. The spots are indicating the band and mode are not
confirmed and when I click, it enters as SSB 30 meters in my qso window. I
certainly hope I haven't made a SSB contact on 30 meters.

With the V7 bug (we don't know if this is in ver 8) the program would
revert to Demo Mode unexpectedly so this would not work.
Important: This bug has not yet been encountered in V8 AFAIK. The old V7
bug could be triggered by starting 2 copies of the program... which is
what happened here... bu
No... it is the programmer's responsibility to protect you from this.
Paul made the decision to protect his software by the Draconian measure
of disallowing saves. It should be absolutely IMPOSSIBLE for a
registered user to find themselves in this situation where the loss of
data is inevitable!

Hi Mel,
I can understand your frustration, but if the "demo mode" problem I had
actually was caused by my inadvertently opening two sessions of the
program simultaneously, I wouldn't be so quick to call it a DX4WIN
bug...it's probably more of an operator-error, Windows system-error
issue, which I
If that's the bug that plagued ver 7... you could not have "saved" your
log... once in "demo mode" DX4Win will not allow you to save or even
export your log which only resides in memory. I am truly sorry to hear
this bug still exists. In ver 7 this bug would rarely manifest itself

This likely isn't a bug, but is something to be aware of.
Yesterday upon exiting DX4WIN 8.02 and answering "yes" to the "Log

HI Gary, You would think that would be the case but doing this has no
effect on the mode/bands in the log entry. I have had several versions over
many years and they are all the same. I edit the bands and modes in
Preferences but they all still show up in the log entry. Several friends h
