There is a small, rectangular, black plastic jumper with 2 holes in it. You
slide that over the indicated pins of P7. It is the easiest of the jumpers
to place. Look for that little, black mystery part. There is a pic of it
in appendix A - page 4, next to the last item.
Good Luck and go slow
I notice some versions of switching supplies (probably for Eu consumption)
have an additional clamp-on ferrite on the output cable. Some supplies only
have terminal posts, but it is a good idea to put a clamp-on ferrite on the
cable right up to the terminal posts, ideally it should be in a meta

This sounds to me like the classic bad solder connection: sometimes it

Mine is usually set at about 8 o'clock and it is quite loud. The audio drops
a lot if I disable the DSP. I'm using my K2 only for SSB.

Bernie and all,
I have not tried it through KIO2 control, but I believe one must install the
frequency counter probe in TP2 to successfully enter the CAL FIL values, and
since that is true, I find it just as easy to crank up Spectrogram, set C22
using WWV or other frequency standard, then run CAL

Thanks for the input Don. I have done the spectrogram method of setting the

about the computer backup was as much curiosity as practical concern, though
if it could be done it might be helpful at times. As I understand
Dennis,
That jumper is one just like those used on computer headers. One was
included in your kit. A picture of it can be found on page 4 of Appendix A
in the manual. Just push it onto the header pins.

I use a SEC 1223 with my K2-100 - it's about 6" away and no
interference, hash, ever heard.
Highly recommend - when I got it from AES to use in British Virgin

one returned!

Could your AGC be too agressive? What happens to AF gain as you turn AGC off

I have been away from K2's for perhaps a year and am considering

Well, I have been responsible for a number of posts on adjusting the AGC

I've read it's possible to build a KPA100 into an EC2. Has anyone documented
how they've done this at a website somewhere?
Do you lose any functionality by doing this rather than having it built into
the K2?
Can you build it into the same enclosure as a KAT100-2?
It would seem to be nice to have

Jim,
My KPA100 is the mounted as the top cover for my KAT100-2 in an EC2. It is
very easy to do and works well. All of the connections that would be made
between the KPA100 and the K2 are present in the KAT100, almost as though it
was designed to be configured this way.
