I stopped by the Koss Factory Store today. I looked at the SB49 first.
(The SB45 is identical to the SB49 but without the volume control in the

It's no surprise ... I've been getting many inquiries
about dust covers and carrying cases for the KX3,
and I've been shipping dust covers for a few weeks.
Elecraft has loaned me an empty KX3 housing with
knobs for use as a manikin to make the dust covers,
and now I'm using it to make a prototype
Just got the email with the tracking number for my SVGA board. At least now I
have something new to play with until Wayne and the gang get the KAT500 tuner
wrapped up and ready to ship.
Hint-hint, would be nice if a preliminary drawing or picture of the unit were

many more devices.
If you do not have a goo anti-static mat and a wrist strap, then
shorting all pins together until after the device is soldered in place
is a good preventative measure.

This has been a frequent request for the K2. The K2 internal speaker
is just fine for a quiet room, but is lacking if the operator has
hearing loss or the location is other than a "quiet room".
I would suggest building an external amplified speaker. OTOH, you may

If your concern is greater during travel, then may I suggest the covers
by Rose Kopp. They are dust covers (and thus are not waterproof), but
they not only look great, but pad the KX3 quite nicely.
If you need something waterproof, may I suggest a pelican case.

probably drops close to a volt, and could be replaced with a 1N5817,
etc. But if you want to pull more current, you also have to change the
choke and the self-resetting fuse. We're working on that.

I used the K3 to switch my SB-220 backup amp (+130 VDC) a couple
months ago. It worked fine through an entire contest. The K3
spec is +200 VDC at 5 amps. I did put a reverse diode across the
relay line to prevent the possibility of negative inductive

Until now I have been using individual LPFs but have a Packer LPF-100 that I
was using with the MOBO project and I would like to use it for the K2/CC combo.
The easiest bandswitching is with a 6-pole switch. H
I got some stuff at Lowe's made by DAP. It is called "Blue Stick." I
took a small amount and rolled it into a ball then stuck it to each
foot. I can now press the power button and jack in and out the
headphones without chasing my radio around the shelf. Thanks for all
