OK, I'll give it try.
I've done that, using the DL2 and a DC voltmeter. Given the max is 30W, how
much of a difference between requested and measured power can there be (at
30W)?

I followed the guide on HDSDR's website for the KX3 and it IS working, but it
is odd vs all my other SDR radios. The RF seems mirrored on both sides of the
center DC spike. Is this normal?
I'm using an iMic with the RXIQ setup using the HDSDR KX3 guide exactly.
Tuning works great. Input
. I'm
getting a bipolar distribution of output power under Tune at a power set
level of 5w, with a display of either 4.4 or 6.4 W and nothing in between.

Critical question: When I adjust the power level of the K2/KPA combination
between low (10W) and high (100W) power is the power measurement taken at
the same point for both levels?
Clearly, the RF level scale changes between the two settings. 10W is full
scale below 10W, 100W is full scale
or calibration was made with the upgrade. Since the upgrade
involved a lot of component changes, this could be the problem!
Would an incorrectly set KPA-100 power meter lead to the observed
differences in ALC response between low and high power settings?

Hi All,
Can the KX3 be adjusted to an output power level less than 0.1 W - down to
milliwatt output levels?
Thanks again, KA3EVT

Help:
I've tried direction connections, but find I'm getting feedback on the
higher bands.
Does anyone have an excess W3FPR/N0SS circuit board for the buffered K2
audio output? Will pay a reasonable price !

I've only had my KX3 for a month. I tried for a week to make a contact
without success. I was really getting frustrated. As it turned out, I was
in PSK D mode rather than Data A. Once I figured out that mistake,
everything was fine after that.

Any recommendations for a whip antenna to use with a KX3?
Thanks much, in advance.

Are you talking about the KX3? Voltage display information is in the
manual, page 22, left column, second item.
Here's my hint for the manual. Download the PDF version and use the find
function. Searching on voltage will get you there. It's more efficient than
thumbing through page by page. I
for another rig for /p operation and confess being tempted by
the variety out there. But now I
realize that true value means more than just a low sticker price!
Hope that Elecraft will offer built small rigs as well.

It absolutely does. It makes me wish I had gone with a built rather than a
kit.

That brings a lot of value added to the factor-built version. IMO, worth
the price, especially considering the number of hours
It's definitely still available. I bought one last week. I got mine from an
estate dealer (never used in the original sealed box) but HRO sells it as
well.

easy:
Solder a ground strap (I used a ground strap for desoldering), to the
ground connection of the microphone and connect it to the metal housing of
the microphone connector.
This solved all my problems.
You can find the whole story in the December issue on page 1280.Hope that
helps.

I read through the manual again, but couldn't find it. I'd like to be
able to send CW regardless of if I was in CW, or SSB, AM, FM. Is this
possible? Sometimes signals fade and I'd like to switch to CW instantly
without changing my receive.
Is this possible?
I would just like to share with everyone. When I did a upgrade to Mountain
Lion, my PL-2303 driver did not work. The only drivers that I found that worked
were from this web site.

Hope this helps anyone that may need this.

annoyed for some time trying to get an edit to take, I went to the macro
file and it was locked as read only. Changing that resolved the issues. The
macro file has been moved. It used to be in Program Files but it now in the
hidden directory Program Data.
