the 220VAC supply going to mine, which
runs off the K3's ACC 12V output, so if I power-cycle the K3, the
KPA500 follows. It is necessary once in a while, when the firmware
hangs.

This list host
ation issue in the KPA500 - support should be
able to help with that.

I seem to remember have heard of this problem several times on the
reflector before.

Hi Chuck,
You could use the "Command Tester" tab, and enter a command like
"^FC5;" (without the quotes).
If seems like a valid RFE for the KPA Utility, to add a user-friendly
control for this. Maybe contact support and suggest it or maybe
K6KR is listening...

it has go to somewhere... but from a scan of the assembly
instructions, I can't find it either.

One correction - data is not permitted on the 75m band, which is
defined as 3.600-4.000MHz, only on the 80m band, which is
3.500-3.600MHz.

KAT500 Utility help.
Full tuning will require a key-down signal - SSB won't do it - so, as
Gary suggests, "teaching" it about various segments within each band
(especially 80m) will help with smooth operation a
*may* be as simple as 'sudo apt-get install ia32-libs'. If that
doesn't do it, try this:
ldd '/home/sam/elecraft/k3util_1_13_6_17/k3util
Libs/RBGUIFramework.so' | grep 'not found'
to see what you're missing...

output. Not 100% sure which of the steps fixed it, but we're glad it's
sorted.
Thanks for your advice, Chloe is just finalising the re-assembly after
testing so she'll be on the air again in no time.
