Ah, you can quell the text decoded display to revert to the VFO B (which
is default, I think). Text decode is not default.
As Don pointed out there's two data items and one peice of UI real estate
to show them. Tough decision.

Good point. The Utility will let you snap a baseline of your rig
settings, today.
What may be easier to use also is, upon finalizing your settings on the

Since 2.57 to 2.67:
My K3/100 has always clicked when it powered on. I thought it was just the
relays resetting or some initialization. Is the click on the speaker or in the
relays on the board(s) ?
Upon boot up the K3 also keys the amp for a split second too.

I ran into the very same problem. Turned out the culprit was my Dell
notebook computers were the cause. The serial ports were not robust
enough, compared to a PC.
Turn on the radio as such:
(A or B)
A: HOLD the power button for a couple seconds. Let it sit
I can't take it anymore, I'm putting a strip of electrical tape over the
upper left patch of the LCD. I can no longer bear to look. Everyone

You get a K3 and it's pre loaded with a certain MCU and DSP, etc..
My K3 was loaded with 2.57 MCU and the corresponding DSP.
Time past. I got a straight-DB9 serial cable on Friday (Frys) and
proceeded to use it to test the lat

through my email message clearly.
The issue is not any of the following:
1. Firmware version
2. Utility version
3. Cable, serial port, or communication over RS-232.
