For years the following setup worked well. USB Connected
K3s/P3/KPA500/KAT500. CAT is COM10. Device manager says COM10 is set for
9600 baud, no parity, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit (9600,n,8,1). HRD is my
main control and logging program. Everything is all hooked up and
working well.

audio on the K3s either in received audio or transmitted audio. When the
band is noisy, I have to reduce LIN OUT to 01 or alternatively reduce

I have been experiencing instability in drive to my K144XV/XV1/Beko
HLV-1000. I may have traced it down to the K3s' KXV3B board by creating
another transverter, XV2, with the same setup as XV1. I monitored the
output of XVTR OUT with an RF power meter and 50 dummy load. I did

Good morning,
I have a new K3S, serial # 10195. All was going well until I hooked up
my KPA500 to the K3S using the Elecraft supplied aux cable (E850463).
In standby mode (on the KPA500) the audio level on the K3S is nice and
loud, BUT when I press the OPER button on the KPA500 the audio
I just got my UPS tracking number and my new K3s will arrive on
Wednsday. So now the decision of whether to keep my K3 100 as a backup
or sell it.
It is s/n 8164 and was purchased in April of 2014. It is a basic K3. Has
the KTCX03-1 1ppm TCXO and the 2.8kHz 8 pole filter, KANT3 (no antenna
No problem here with my Timewave Navigator which is a 6 port USB hub to
CAT, PTT, FSK, WinKeyer, Config, and an fully configured RS232 which
connects to my KPA500. Cheaper USB hubs, Logitech etc. exhibit RF
sensitivity but then all of my antennas are in the attic as I live in a

up for AMSAT membership they will allow the download and send a CD of

operating and have no difficulty with noise floor increases on the K3 on
6M. I removed power completely from the P3 just to be sure. The noise
floor stayed the same. You might remove the SVGA board and just see if

I have been running some RTTY on 17M and FSK-441 on 6M meteor
scatter, both of which have full period signals for 30 seconds or so. I
have reduced power to 250W, but by the end of a transmissions the fan
has gone to 747 short field take off mode at about 71C. Am I missing

When I fired up the K2 today, it was all confused and I had to do a

reset. After the reset I could get no DSP menu so I removed the KDSP and
jumpered the audio lines in order to do the CAL FIL. At that time when I

I have worked YX0LIX on 10, 12, 17 meters on an attic off center fed 40M
dipole. You just cannot beat the mojo! Now on to 20 and 40... and oh by the

The Alabama QSO part is this weekend and I will be on, along with
several
of my fellow ops from the Birmingham Amateur Radio Club. Most of us will be
running QRP. We will be lurking about the lower 40Khz of each band 160 thru
